The EU parliament has voted on "Chat Control 1.0" 2 times in the past, with the majority being AGAINST both times.
The European People's Parties (centre-right) response? Use institutional corruption to achieve what they want.
They called for an "Urgent Procedure" Wich means the following:
If absolute majority or 361 people of the 720 MEPs don't vote against, chat control will pass. Or in other words, if you don't vote, can't show up, or don't show up, your vote is de facto a YES
This is absurd, they called this specifically for this time, at the beginning of the holidays so even if they DONT WIN and even if there's more NOs than YESes, chat control will most likely still be passed.
