No media wrote about this yet, because I am still talking about the future but with absolute confidence.

The EU parliament has voted on "Chat Control 1.0" 2 times in the past, with the majority being AGAINST both times.

The European People's Parties (centre-right) response? Use institutional corruption to achieve what they want.

They called for an "Urgent Procedure" Wich means the following:

If absolute majority or 361 people of the 720 MEPs don't vote against, chat control will pass. Or in other words, if you don't vote, can't show up, or don't show up, your vote is de facto a YES

This is absurd, they called this specifically for this time, at the beginning of the holidays so even if they DONT WIN and even if there's more NOs than YESes, chat control will most likely still be passed.

Btw it's not fully dystopian, its not mandatory for companies to enforce the rule, but it still opens a backdoor for any company that does so theoretically. I see it as a violation of our data privacy. It's meant to "protect children", with the platforms being able to check every single media you upload for some kind of hash codes and check it if it's part of some database. It's a sleep slope, today its illegal material, tomorrow it's anti immigration banners or videos.

these guys are insane

Tomorrow this will pass and get voted, I am certain that what I said will be correct, before any media whatsoever notices it. Just so you know. based on recent surveys. Only about 22% of the general population is aware of chat control, and 72% of the public is against chat control, even at this first stage.
