perms might give loose waves, but it prob won't hold (bc 1a hair is straight and thin asf) and can damage ur hair. usually, heat styling + texturizing sprays are better, bc they're lower risk and will give more natural looking waves that are easier to control. (take it with a grain of salt, i'm an autist with a bad memory)

Perma 1A doesn't create very loose waves like a "beach wave" but it gives a flat-wavy, shape-holding result. Over time the waves soften and look natural. It adds volume to fine hair, but the ends may become dry requiring maintenance. Curler diameter
Thick curlers > natural waves
Thin curlers > curly curls (avoid if you don't want that)
If the application time is kept too short, it will become wavy if left too long, it will turn curly.
"I don't want curls, just slight waves and movement. Use thick curlers and leave them in for a short time" Just tell your hairdresser this.
The hairdresser's experience (This is the most critical point)
