Hi, can you help me with a question please? It's about oxytocin.

VI saw in a post that oxytocin promotes the formation of osteoblasts increasing bone density, can someone confirm this for me or tell me if it's a lie?Thank you
Idk but when you cuddle you make oxytocine but if you dont got a partner I would maybe recommend buying a weighted blanket (+8kg)

This is one of the most comprehensive review articles published in recent years. It describes how oxytocin not only increases bone formation but also improves the microarchitecture of bone

I need a torta that I can hold and care for so I can farm with oxytocin

Youre not reveiving a molecule of bone. Exogenous oxytocin has to be intraneuraly injected as it breaks down super easy, nasal spray wont even reach your brain

Also even if it did help with density it would be irrelevant as you cant see density

Oxytocin does not need to reach the brain to have an effect on bone. Our bone cells osteoblasts and osteoclasts contain oxytocin receptors directly. Therefore, oxytocin that enters the bloodstream goes directly to the bone tissue and does its job. Furthermore, intranasal sprays are the most widely accepted method worldwide for delivering oxytocin directly to the brain by crossing the blood brain barrier the statement that it does not reach the brain contradicts modern neuroscience

It wouldnt contradict shit, they use intraneural injections for a reason, same thing pretty mich applies for bone as its so rapidly broken down, youd still have to do local method of delivery

The working principle of hormones is not local injection hormones carry messages throughout the body via the bloodstream. The rapid breakdown of oxytocin in the blood is not an obstacle, but rather the body's balancing mechanism. The amount that reaches the bone is sufficient to trigger the receptor in the cell. Dozens of studies in the scientific literature (in journals such as Nature and PNAS) have clearly proven that oxytocin increases bone density even when administered intravenously or subcutaneously. If local application were necessary, neither insulin therapy nor hormone replacement therapies would be possible today
