i've dropped my phone onto carpet before and even that fucked the whole screen up. a small bit of wetness shouldn't fuck the screen up at least with apple, what type of phone do you have?
you genuinely COULD try putting in it rice, it wouldn't hurt anything and if it did get wet it can absorb the moisture
if you have the money for it i would try to take it to a genuine repair shop to see if they can replace the screen and take a look if theres any damage to the hardware
