Introduction
I know what you're thinking: "another quit-porn thread." And yeah, that's basically what this is. But give me a few minutes before you scroll past it.. I was addicted to this for years couldn't go a single day without watching it and finishing to it. It's been two years since I broke that cycle, and this thread is everything I wish someone had actually laid out for me back then: not just "it's bad for you," but what it actually does — to your brain, your relationships, how you see people, how you handle stress backed by real sources, not just vibes or scare tactics.
At least you will know what you are doing to yourself, your body, your future and your relationships. And yes I am fully aware that people that are consuming porn and masturbating knows that it is bad but do they really know how bad is it?
I'm not here to tell you what to do with your own life. If you read through this with an open mind and still don't think any of it applies to you, that's genuinely fine — you know your own situation better than I do. But if any part of it does land, I'll walk through what actually helped me change it, and none of it is the cope-level advice you've probably already heard and already tried., while excluding the typical cope methods like “promise your friend you'll stop” or “do 15 push-ups whenever you want to jerk off at 2 AM .And for anyone that is satisfied and don't want change that's fine too,
just rep the thread to people that wanna change this habits
If this helps even one person look at their own habits a little more honestly, that's the whole point of writing it. do not respond with hate.
structure
since I know y'all have an attention span of a gold fish I will start by the most interesting part and thee studies and every researches will be at the middle
debunking every excuses addict uses
Let's take a look at this org user defending porn with all his heart. I won't show his profile because I don't want to attack him personally—only the people who resonate with what he's saying. His thread is obviously low effort but let's take a look at it anyways
Normal ≠ risk-free at any level. Lots of normal things (eating, gaming, social media, even exercise) can become something a specific person overdoes to the point it interferes with their life. "It's natural" doesn't tell you anything about your pattern specifically and here we are only talking about masturbating not watching corn wich is totally not the same thing they don't have the same consequences, it is a human nature to masturbate but to masturbate while watching pixels on your screen is a
whole other things that isn't That isn't the same as the natural sexual behavior we're talking about
is this monkey holding a phone and watching other reproduce?
www.thenakedscientists.com
here is a site that shows monkey also get a natural reaction seeing other copulate in this study , male monkeys gave up fruit juice rewards just to look at images of a female monkey's hindquarters, suggesting the visual cue itself has reward value to them. so I can see where this arguments is coming from wich is stronger than the argument the org user use.
but is it really for the same reasons ?
Even animals does it why shouldn't we. Are we really using animals as arguments? animals eat each other should we do the same since it is natural? but anyways let address this
straight from google here is why monkeys jerk off
and here is why most of humans masturbate:
but I can see why some people use this arguments since humans are also animal it get tempting to point at a Monkey and say see even animals respond to sex erosion so it is natural and fine. but that comparison falls apparat under scrutiny. When a seagull joins a mating frenzy after seeing others start, or a monkey looks at reproductive cues, it's responding to something tied directly to its actual biology it like I show you two people reproduce one time and that all you will be able to recreate it it a natural function. present opportunity connected to survival and reproduction, in a social context with real consequences and real limits. There's no seagull sitting alone for hours cycling through an endless, algorithm-fed stream of novel mating stimuli it will never act on. That's the part that's uniquely human
comparing school and porn is crazy work lets see the benefits of these two "unnatural habit
It's true that some research (including a review in the Oxford Academic volume on pornography and public health) finds porn can help people learn about their own preferences, especially those with limited sex education. That's a real, documented benefit not something to wave away.
porn
1. Sexual self-discovery and knowledge
Porn can expose people to a range of sexual content that helps them figure out what they're actually attracted to especially for people with limited access to comprehensive sex education. This is one of the more consistently reported benefits: people learning about their own sexuality
Shared use as a couple's communication tool
When couples watch together, it can open conversations about preferences, boundaries, and what each partner wants functioning less as "the content itself helps" and more as a low-pressure prompt to talk about sex more openly
benefits of school( not defending school or anything just because he compared both of them)
1. Structured knowledge and skill-building
School gives you a sequenced foundation literacy, math, reasoning skills, subject-specific knowledge that's hard to build consistently on your own. Even material that feels irrelevant now (like a lot of secondary school content) often becomes the base layer for later specialized learning wich is realy helpflul to larp as smart.
2. Social development and exposure to diversity
Being around a large, varied group of peers daily teaches negotiation, collaboration, conflict resolution, and exposure to different backgrounds and train EQ one the most important form of intelligence sociably don't tell me you did not get your first friend in school.
3. life creation
like it or not in this society if you do not have another source of fund your degree in School will determine how you will live the rest of your life school gives you the paper trail that opens doors if you cannot open them yourself. I know I sound like a bot but just to debunk the argument in a logical way
that a simple comparison and claiming unnatural does not take away the benefits that they give us school is unnatural but not missing on benefits, jerking to porn tho.
And also using your hand will never be close to replicate sex between two humans this excuse is pure cope
watch vr porn and imagine yourself by fucking your pillow
this argument is purely illogical and immoral here is why
. They're correct that a 15-16 year old with a smartphone has unrestricted access regardless of what a forum's rules say. "Just don't allow it here" doesn't change anyone's actual behavior. "You can't stop them from watching porn, so don't bother discussing moderation/patterns/risk" doesn't actually follow it's the same move as saying "people will drink underage anyway, so don't teach them about binge drinking or how alcohol affects a developing brain. and mostly Not letting them as their brain will never be fully mature to understand the risk they are involving themselves in as they priories any dopamine hit without looking the future consequences that this will have I will be with any movement if they can reduce corn by even a percent that why I am doing this thread if it help one person to quite this addiction it would mean the world to me.
"
This isn't a hard argument to debunk, so I won't spend too many words on it.
Using these excuses is just a sign of a weak mentality. You can't be a lookmaxer, trying to do everything possible to look better, feel better, and become better, while simultaneously having a weak mind. Just because something doesn't affect your looks doesn't mean you should do it simply because it makes you feel good or helps you relieve stress.
You're only training yourself to seek immediate gratification whenever you experience stress or discomfort. If you can't control your impulses, do you really think you'll be able to control your diet when things get difficult?(could take any others example first one that I got in mind)
When you repeatedly train your brain to give in to every impulse, you're not only affecting that one habit. Your actions influence other areas of your life as well. That's what most addicts fail to realize. habitually using porn to cope with stress can generalize into an avoidance pattern that shows up elsewhere coping with this will not be a solution to your life.
No masturbating while watching other people reproduce will not help your sex life I will go more in depth with this later on I don't think anyone need me to explain them why it will not I hope so at least
I think I've gone through most of the excuses addicts tend to use. If there are any others you can think of, feel free to write them to me and I'll add them. Just don't send me personal arguments or individual stories.
social consequences of Lust
here is the more interesting subject according to me.
Think about the last time you talked to someone you were actually interested in not on a screen, in person, where you had to read their face, hear their voice waver, notice what made them laugh. Now think about how many hours you've spent watching a version of intimacy that asks nothing of you: no conversation, no rejection, no effort, no person on the other side who has her own day, her own thoughts, her own bad mood or good one. It's not hard to see which one your brain starts finding easier. That's the quiet cost nobody warns you about. It's not that porn makes you into a monster. It's smaller and sadder than that: it teaches you a shortcut, and shortcuts have a way of becoming the only path you know. You will lose the view of the opposite sex you once had little by little without even realizing it.
how lust destroy you judgement
Have you ever caught yourself looking at someone and, before anything else, analyzing their body running a mental scorecard? (for the corn addict ofc)
for this one I will be targeting the men more since the study and proof I am using are based on men and the one on females are not strong enough as women don't sexualize the opposite genders as much as men do (no offence)
There's real research on why that happens. A study of over 300 men found that pornography use was consistently linked to seeing women as less fully human
There's a specific way lust distorts judgment that has nothing to do with someone's face or general likability both play a role of course but you l bee surprised how much lust play with you mind in this one. it's about what happens the moment you sexualize someone. When you're viewing a person primarily through a sexual lens, your brain isn't just noticing attraction, it's lowering your guard around them.
I'm going to give you an obvious example
why do you think she got all her fame?
Yes, she does make some good music, but do you really believe that her success is solely because of her music? Obviously not. She shows off her body in almost every one of her music videos, and I find it disgusting how people can idolize her after seeing how she built her success.
now let back this up with some studies:
There's a well-known study by MIT researcher Dan Ariely that showed something most people would never admit about themselves, when men were surveyed in a sexually aroused state versus a neutral one. their willingness to engage in morally questionable behavior to obtain sex rose sharply, along with their willingness to take real risks they'd normally judge as reckless.
The men in the study consistently underestimated how much arousal was steering their own judgment, the shift in their moral compass wasn't something they could predict or even notice while it was happening to them, That's the mechanism behind giving someone more credit than they've earned
it's not that you consciously decide "she seems trustworthy," it's that lust quietly turns down the part of your brain that would normally flag inconsistencies, red flags, or things that don't add up. A guy meets someone, sexualizes her within the first few minutes, and suddenly finds himself excusing behavior he'd call a dealbreaker in anyone else not because he evaluated her character, but because desire already told him what verdict to reach. you are not
control anymore you become no more than an animal searching to reproduce.
how lust destroy real love
Real love asks you to see someone fully, their contradictions, their bad days, the parts of them that don't perform for you. Lust asks the opposite: it wants a surface, a reaction, a moment you can chase again.
And the danger is that the two can feel identical from the inside. This is also how lust makes cheating easier than people want to admit. Someone who means nothing to you seduces you with their body, and the same judgment-breaking effect I explained earlier kicks in you would fold for a person that is seducing and arousing you sexual instinct instead off being loyal to your partner lust making cheating easier with someone who is sexually more attracting than your partner. your rationality folds for whoever is triggering that sexual instinct hardest in the moment, even against someone you claim to love. None of that makes cheating not a choice. It just means the choice gets made by a version of you whose judgment has already been hijacked. which is exactly why guarding against that state matters more than trusting your willpower once you're already in it. which is exactly why guarding against that state matters more than trusting your willpower once you're already in it. each time you fold in your rooms thinking it has no major consequences it has every single time you feed this judgment breaking making it stronger.
lets take a hypothetical scenario I took two extreme the comparison you are dating Blanca soler one of if not the most gorgeous women in the world which body under the norm of today society is not considered "sexy"
which body by today social norm is considered very attractive but is far less atractive than blanca facialy
I know I sound like a dumbass by using this as an argument but hear me out
again for this example is for men as they are the most likely to cheat on their girl for someone less good looking but with more body attractiveness women tend to cheat with a better looking man
Yes, I know this woman isn't unattractive, but let me ask you a question. If you're in a relationship with Blanca and this girl approaches you in the morning, you might experience some temptation. But if you have a clear mind and you're not deeply consumed by lust, you'll refuse her like any normal human being.
But let's change the scenario.
You're at a club, already pretty drunk. Your judgment is noticeably worse than usual, but you still feel like you're in control.
This woman approaches you and shows clear interest in you. Normally, you might take a moment to think about whether you actually want to pursue anything with her. But now your brain is heavily influenced by alcohol, attraction, and the excitement of the situation.
This is exactly what we're trying to avoid. Lust doesn't have to completely control you for it to influence your decisions. Even a small weakness can become enough to make you compromise on something you genuinely value.
That's why the goal isn't simply to learn how to resist temptation when it becomes overwhelming. The goal is to eliminate that weakness as much as possible—to become the kind of person who doesn't need to fight the impulse every single time because he has developed enough self-control that the impulse doesn't dictate his decisions.
lust make You mistake wanting someone for knowing them, mistake the ache of desire for the depth of connection. And by the time the intensity fades because it always fades, that's just how arousal works, it's not built for permanence you are never aroused for an entire day only for a a moment.
you're left facing an actual person, with an actual personality, who needs actual patience and effort and attention you never had to practice, because lust never asked that of you. . Real love is built slowly, through choosing someone on the boring days, not just the electric ones, that why I dont undearstand the body standars but I do undearstand the face standard someone that face attract you choosing someone only because they arous you what are you going to do when the arouse fade? Lust doesn't teach you how to do that. It teaches you how to want, not how to stay. And a lot of people spend years mistaking their skill at wanting for a skill at loving. until they're in a real relationship, feeling that first rush fade like it always does, and panicking, thinking something's wrong, when actually nothing's wrong at all. They just never learned what comes after the chase, because chasing was the only part they'd ever practiced.
All consequences of lust
Since the 1970s, there have been several studies that show that the consumption of pornography produces harmful consequences, as i repeated earlier (the
content of pornography is mostly focused on men, and women are usually treated as an object) that does not mean the consequence goe only to men it affect both of the sexes.
It has been observed how regular pornography consumption is even capable of altering the brain’s chemical structure, specially the frontostriatal connections, which play a role in the development of intimacy with others (Struhers, 2010)
Addiction isn’t about the substance — it’s about the brain’s reward system.
still not convinced how porn play with you brain?
Dopamine Overload Repeated high-intensity stimulation causes dopamine spikes far above normal levels. Over time, the brain becomes desensitized, requiring more extreme content to feel anything.
Think about it this way: if you had a job that paid you $100 for 8 hours of work, but another job offered you $350 for just one hour, do you really think you'd still enjoy going back to your first job?
That is essentially the comparison I'm making with pornography. Porn can provide an extremely intense and immediate form of stimulation, with endless novelty and constantly changing images available within seconds. Some discussions compare the level of dopamine response involved to that produced by powerful rewards or even stimulant drugs, although the exact numbers—such as the often-cited 200–350% figure—vary considerably and shouldn't be treated as an established measurement.
The point is simpler: when your brain becomes accustomed to an unusually intense and easily accessible reward, ordinary stimulation can start to feel less exciting by comparison.
every days activities will become more and more boring less and less rewarding the productive one will be out of reach for your brain
Prefrontal Cortex Weakening
This is the part of the brain responsible for discipline, focus, and decision-making
straight from the website: https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/health-and-medicine/prefrontal-cortex-pfc
The prefrontal cortex (PFC) is a crucial region of the brain located at the front of the frontal lobe, responsible for high-order cognitive functions such as decision-making, planning, and emotional regulation. It plays a significant role in executive functions, which encompass complex mental processes essential for daily life.
yeah porn does affect IQ if you were wondering
here is a study that back it up: https://www.covenanteyes.com/blog/does-watching-porn-make-you-dumber/
Addiction Circuit Activation The nucleus accumbens (reward center) becomes hyper-reactive to sexual cues.
This creates: cravings/ compulsive behavior/ loss of control
Novelty Addiction (The Coolidge Effect)
in simple word : males (and to a lesser extent females) exhibit renewed sexual interest when introduced to a new, novel partner, even after sexual satiety with a previous partner.
see where porn is linked?
View attachment 406055
The brain becomes addicted to new stimuli, not intimacy. This leads more and more extremes categories, you discover fetishes that you never had before and can have some serious consequences take for example the Hullo situation who is certainly a corn addict see where this has leaded him?
softcore → hardcore → extreme → taboo
Psychological Consequences
Anxiety & Depression
the majority of porn consequence are linked to dopamine ,Dopamine depletion leads to: low motivation chronic sadness depression
Social withdrawal
Porn becomes a substitute for real connection. Users isolate themselves, avoid social risk, and lose confidence. which explain why the majority of involuntary celibate are addict
this user on incels.is explains it well
Reduced Stress Tolerance
Porn becomes a coping mechanism. Without it, stress feels unbearable
Porn-Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED) One of the most documented effects.
edclinics.co.uk
Men can get aroused by pixels but not by real partners
Delayed Ejaculation / Anorgasmia The brain becomes conditioned to artificial stimulation.
Distorted Sexual Expectations
Porn teaches: unrealistic bodies unrealistic behavior unrealistic performance unrealistic dominance/submission dynamics
porn induced sexual dissatisfaction (this is one of the only part that women and men have different consequences)
Women don’t typically experience erectile dysfunction, but they do experience:
reduced arousal with real partners
When a woman’s brain becomes conditioned to fast, high‑intensity visual stimulation, real intimacy can feel slower less exciting less stimulating
Delayed Orgasm / Anorgasmia : difficulty reaching orgasm with a partner.
Objectification ( this part concern more the women ) in a sexual intend not pure beauty
www.morethanabody.org
Porn trains the brain to see people as sexual objects, not full humans as I mention it earlier
Many women even voluntarily sign up to be portrayed as objects and accept huge paychecks in return (think any men’s magazine, commercials for hundreds of otherwise non-sexual products, etc.). Being valued as an object is glamorized and sold as the highest form of power a woman can wield. that women exist to be looked at, consumed, and discarded. No wonder the dehumanization and devaluation of women is often so invisible to men. It’s normal. It’s comfortable.
think about it if you dress modestly people will look at you more strangely than if you dressed half naked.
We live in a world where the objectification of women is so standard that it is invisible and unquestioned. But the only way to fight it is to see it and question it
Spiritual & Moral Consequences
there is not a lot to say as everything is linked and mentioned earlier.
Even for people who aren’t religious, porn affects the deeper layers of identity.
Loss of Purpose: Lust becomes the main source of pleasure. Life feels empty without stimulation.
Physical Consequences
Fatigue & Low Energy Dopamine depletion affects physical vitality.
Hormonal Imbalance Excessive stimulation affects testosterone and cortisol.
Reduced Athletic Performance Porn addiction is linked to slower reaction time/ lower stamina/ reduced explosiveness
A quick word on the industry itself
It's worth separating "is porn use harmful to the viewer" from a different question entirely: what's actually happening on the production side. This part isn't speculative — there are real, prosecuted criminal cases behind it.
The clearest example: GirlsDoPorn, a site that recruited young women through fake modeling ads, flew them out, then coerced them into filming under threats and financial pressure. This wasn't a forum rumor — the founders were federally charged and convicted of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, and one defendant was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Pornhub hosted and profited from this content for years before removing most of it.
None of this means every performer or every site is a trafficking situation — that's not the claim. But it does mean "it's just two consenting adults, no harm to anyone" isn't something you can assume by default. The demand side (viewers) and the supply side (an industry with a documented, prosecuted history of exploiting vulnerable people to meet that demand) aren't separate from each other.
Real women answered what they believed was a modeling ad. They were flown to another city, away from anyone they knew, and once there, pressured and coerced into filming content they never agreed to — sometimes told they now owed money for their own travel and had no way out. This wasn't some rare, isolated glitch in an otherwise clean industry — the men behind it ran this for over a decade before facing any consequences, and the platform hosting the content profited from it the entire time. Every one of those videos was watched by real people, most of whom had no idea.
witch is really disgusting seeing how women are used and trafficked for some addict fetishes

how to quit your addiction
First of all, actually read this thread with an open mind, like I mentioned at the start. If you clicked on this thread just to read the part about how to quit, it probably won't work. It's like trying to learn how to ride a bicycle by only watching someone else do it. Do your own research, stay motivated, understand what you're doing, and check my sources. No one can magically change your mind for you you are the only one capable of doing that.
This thread will not magically make your addiction disappear. You have to actually put in the effort yourself.
I won't list thousands of different methods. I'll only give you the ones I believe are the most effective for reducing or quitting your addiction.
DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE AT BEDTIME
If you live with other people, chances are the one time you actually watch porn is late at night. think about your environment: no sleep yet, nothing to do, bored and phone that give you access to the whole world next to you. it's exactly the environment that makes relapse easiest, and I'm saying this from experience.
That combination lowers your guard, you start scrolling without really deciding to. If the habit already exists, your brain knows exactly what your phone can give you in seconds, the second you feel bored you will find yourself back into that viscous circle "muh Il just do it one last time"
the environment himself has a lot more impact than you think nothing's stopping you, "I'll just scroll for a minute" quietly turns into the same site, the same habit
and every times you do it your brain strengthen the link between alone in bed with your phone and seeking that stimulation. Eventually you don't even have to be aroused or intentional about it. just being in that environment is enough to trigger the routine.
That's the real problem with the smartphone era: it never lets you fully log off, not even in the one place and time you're supposed to be shutting down for the day
pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
When it’s time to turn off the lights and go to sleep, the last thing our brain needs is more information and stimulation.
Here's the part people underestimate: watching porn late at night doesn't just cost you the time it takes, it costs you the sleep after it Arousal keeps your brain alert when he is supposed to be shutting down, which delays when you actually fall asleep, even if you close the phone right after. Do that regularly and you're not just tired, you're running on a sleep deficit that affects your mood, focus, and impulse control the next day. Which, ironically, makes you more likely to reach for the same habit again the next night, because a tired, low-willpower brain is exactly the brain most likely to give in to easy stimulation. Bad sleep and the habit end up feeding each other.

how to not be an addict again
sleep with someone could be family/friend/lovers
this methods is for the more dependent and is more extreme but by this method you are sur not to go on the naught site i promise you you will not do the same thing you do in your bed alone than with someone or else we have another problem to look at I know pretty well not all of you can sleep with someone like that randomly after year of sleeping alone but this technique is just for deeper addict that really are harming them self with the addiction
find a hobby
im serious find something you really like I personaly bought a piano and spend my night playing on it and I fucking love it
here is the listing cause why not someone can be interested
fucking beautiful
the key here is to find something YOU love it doesn't have to be productive don't force yourself into hobby that you dislike worst move to make.
everything that can keep you mind occupied at night before sleep and make you forget you evil desire.
here is a list of activities that I find interesting (before doing any of them fix your attention span this is very important to be able to enjoy them)
Any video games,
listen to music (new music and other genres find taste you did not know you had
reading (dm if you want some suggestion I've read a lot not some boring book I'm talking about stories book) this is the current activities that I do before bed
play an instrument
Drawing and painting
watch movies(got some recommendation also)
I know these hobbies seem boring and that you've hear them a million times but I'm telling you the thing that is making you not interested in these is YOU ATTENTION SPAN.
Start small. If you just quit, you’ll get back to it eventually. Don’t do streaks, don’t count days, that’s bullshit and it will only demotivate you
have you ever seen a person that never drinked counting the day of being soober?
Look, if you gap 10 times a week, then you decide to « stop » but wank it once after 6 days, that’s huge progress ! Start small, then progressively do it less and less. If you do it once a day, start by doing that every other day maximum. Then you’ll crave it lesser and lesser. Then you can start to reduce it again and again until eventually you don’t do it anymore. When reaching that state you’ll do it maybe once a month, which is harmless. and of course please don't watch while doing it
and of course the best way is to just not do it anymore I'm not telling you even if you don't want to do it but you fixed your mind to do it one time a week that you have to do it this is just to quit the easy way.
here is a psychological trick you can use: The writer Nir Eyal has some thoughts on self control in general. It’s called the ten minute rule. You don’t say “I’m not allowed that”. You say “I’m not allowed that now, but I can in ten mins”. It’s easier in the moment to tell yourself “not now” as opposed to “no, not ever”.
that's where i got my method from
ENVIREMENT
make it harder for yourself when you do not have the desire delete the apps that you use for that purpose
and lastly no method will work except your decision and you mindfulness
conclusion
I want to be honest with you about something before you close this thread: no method, no matter how well explained, can change your mind for you. That part has to come from inside you. If you're not truly ready if some part of you isn't prepared to actually commit to this then nothing I've written here is going to work, no matter how detailed or well-researched it is. That's not a flaw in the method. That's just how change works. It was never going to be any different.
I've done my absolute best to explain everything I genuinely believe you need to know. I've tried to cover the reasoning behind each step, not just the steps themselves, because understanding why something works matters just as much as knowing what to do. But I need to be clear about something important: just because this worked, or because it makes sense on paper, doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work the exact same way for you. Everyone's starting point is different. Everyone's mind resists change in different ways. What clicks for one person might take longer for another, and that's normal.
At the end of it all, you are the one who has to make the decision. Not me, not this thread, not anyone else reading this. No one can talk you into being ready — that's a decision only you can make, and only you can carry out. I can hand you every tool in the world, but I can't close the urge in your brain for you.
That's really all these methods ever were: tools. Not a guarantee, not a shortcut, not a magic switch. They're here to make the process a little easier, to give your mind something solid and structured to hold onto once you've already decided you're ready to commit. They exist to help you convince yourself, to make that internal shift a little less overwhelming when the moment comes.
I spent days digging into this, reading, testing, and putting it together, because I wanted to give the best, most honest thread I could — not something rushed, not something recycled from somewhere else. If even one person reads this and it helps them take that first step, then the time was worth it.
And if you ever need anything else — more explanation, more support, or just someone to point you in the right direction — I'll always be happy to help.
Must read worthy? @Nihilus @Randomized

whole other things that isn't That isn't the same as the natural sexual behavior we're talking about
is this monkey holding a phone and watching other reproduce?
Do animals get aroused watching other animals copulate?
Chris Smith put this to zoologist and Naked Scientist Georgia Mills...Chris - Georgia - Luke has asked this rather provocative question:
but is it really for the same reasons ?
Even animals does it why shouldn't we. Are we really using animals as arguments? animals eat each other should we do the same since it is natural? but anyways let address this
straight from google here is why monkeys jerk off
sperm Quality and Competition: In species with multi-male mating systems, males masturbate to flush out older sperm, ensuring only fresh, high-quality ("super") semen is available for fertilization. This is particularly common in subordinate males who may be interrupted during mating.
Pathogen Avoidance: Masturbation acts as a cleansing mechanism for the urethra, helping to expel pathogens and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This is especially noted in larger primates that cannot easily lick their genitals clean.
Sexual Arousal and Readiness: For lower-ranking males, self-stimulation helps maintain high levels of sexual arousal, allowing them to quickly and successfully mate if a dominant male is interrupted or if they have a brief opportunity

and here is why most of humans masturbate:
to feel good
comparing school and porn is crazy work lets see the benefits of these two "unnatural habit
But here's the distinction that matters: that benefit is tied to exploration, not repetition. Watching a range of content once or occasionally to understand your own attractions is a genuinely different behavior from watching the same category of content compulsively many times a day for pleasure rather than information this study showing the benefits does not show the result oof a guy watching 6 times in an hour So the honest version of this point isn't "this benefit is fake," it's "this benefit applies to a pattern of use most heavy users have already moved past. user like this are nowhere to be found
Shared use as a couple's communication tool
When couples watch together, it can open conversations about preferences, boundaries, and what each partner wants functioning less as "the content itself helps" and more as a low-pressure prompt to talk about sex more openly
You could get the same communication benefit by directly asking your partner what they like, without needing shared content as the icebreaker. So it's less "porn is good for your relationship" and more "porn can be a crutch that makes an easier conversation you could probably have without it
benefits of school( not defending school or anything just because he compared both of them)
(These " kids " are 15-16 yr olds and they all watch porn . Even if u ban it from here they can just use pornohub. If ur using an incel forum at 15 then it alone make sures u have seen depth of porn.)
"
I need it to relax / fall asleep / relieve stress"
"It's helping my sex life, not hurting it"
I think I've gone through most of the excuses addicts tend to use.
All consequences of lust
i searched days into this to actualy see the real consequences off porn as for that I will not state consequence that are not supported I've seen many people making up consequences that are not supported at all just to scare the addict and it may result in a shorter consequence you excepted.
MRI scans help researchers see:
- which brain regions activate during cravings
- how the reward system responds to stimuli
- whether the prefrontal cortex shows reduced control
Neurological Consequences (Brain Damage Patterns)
(Nucleus Accumbens)
- This is the “dopamine center.”
- In both porn and drug addiction, it becomes hyper‑responsive to cues (images, thoughts, triggers).
- This area helps you regulate impulses.
- In addicts, it often shows reduced activity, meaning:
weaker self‑control
difficulty resisting urges
compulsive behavior
Anxiety & Depression
the majority of porn consequence are linked to dopamine ,Dopamine depletion leads to: low motivation chronic sadness depression
Social withdrawal
Porn becomes a substitute for real connection. Users isolate themselves, avoid social risk, and lose confidence. which explain why the majority of involuntary celibate are addict
this user on incels.is explains it well
Reduced Stress Tolerance
Porn becomes a coping mechanism. Without it, stress feels unbearable
Sexual Consequences
Porn-Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED) One of the most documented effects.
Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction: What it is & How You Can Fix it | ED Clinics
Over the past decade, the accessibility and volume of online pornography has increased dramatically. As a result, researchers have begun to examine its
edclinics.co.uk
Female Objectification: Who's Really to Blame - More Than A Body
In a culture that routinely objectifies women, who's to blame when real-life women are viewed as objects to be groped, harassed, evaluated, and discarded?
But the only way to fight it is to see it and question it
there is not a lot to say as everything is linked and mentioned earlier.
Even for people who aren’t religious, porn affects the deeper layers of identity.
Loss of Purpose: Lust becomes the main source of pleasure. Life feels empty without stimulation.
Analysis of 2020 National Human Trafficking Hotline Data - Polaris
In 2020, analysis from the National Human Trafficking Hotline showed reports of human trafficking were most notable for their consistency and adaptability, and it remains highly personal.
That's the real problem with the smartphone era: it never lets you fully log off, not even in the one place and time you're supposed to be shutting down for the day
It keeps your mind engaged
sleep is the most powerful drug do not underestimate it you will achieve nothing without it.A study on the effect of mobile phone use on sleep - PMC
Several studies have been conducted globally to assess the impact of usage of mobile phones on quality and duration of sleep as also on day time sleepiness. The objective of the present study was to assess the effect of mobile phone usage on the ...
Bad sleep and the habit end up feeding each other.

how to not be an addict again
sleep with someone could be family/friend/lovers
this methods is for the more dependent and is more extreme but by this method you are sur not to go on the naught site i promise you you will not do the same thing you do in your bed alone than with someone or else we have another problem to look at I know pretty well not all of you can sleep with someone like that randomly after year of sleeping alone but this technique is just for deeper addict that really are harming them self with the addiction
find a hobby
im serious find something you really like I personaly bought a piano and spend my night playing on it and I fucking love it
here is the listing cause why not someone can be interested
the key here is to find something YOU love it doesn't have to be productive don't force yourself into hobby that you dislike worst move to make.
everything that can keep you mind occupied at night before sleep and make you forget you evil desire.
here is a list of activities that I find interesting (before doing any of them fix your attention span this is very important to be able to enjoy them)
Any video games,
listen to music (new music and other genres find taste you did not know you had
reading (dm if you want some suggestion I've read a lot not some boring book I'm talking about stories book) this is the current activities that I do before bed
play an instrument
