For softmax maxilla projection without hardmaxxing, the order I'd attack it:
1. Tongue posture 24/7 — entire tongue flat against palate including the back third (most people get the tip right and miss the rest). This is the real driver, the rest is secondary.
2. Nasal breathing — most adult maxilla recession is downstream of chronic mouth breathing. Mouth tape at night is the cheapest test. Buteyko or nasal strips if you have any obstruction.
3. Hard chewing daily — falim gum + mastic gum. 30+ min/day. Builds masseter, also stimulates the palatal area to a degree even in adults.
4. Posture — chin tucks. Forward head posture collapses the airway and reinforces the recession pattern. Maxilla won't come forward if your head is permanently tilted forward.
For the hyoid: chin tucks + tongue push-ups (push tongue hard against palate, hold 5 sec, repeat). Suprahyoid strengthening over months helps hyoid position more than people give it credit for.
Don't expect month-by-month visible change — softmax forward growth is a 12-24 month timeline and you measure with side profile photos at fixed angle. Nice that you're already noticing small improvement, that's the leading indicator.
