How do I get a Palate Expander

I live in the US and in no fucking way will my bluepilled black female dentist give me a palate expander, my palate is narrow but I have very straight teeth with no crowding/malloclusion, so there is no solid reason for me to give her to give me a palate expander other than "muh maxilla" which she will obviously say no. Am very convinced on buying one online and just doing this myself but I seriously dont wanna fuck myself up, please help

Schedule a free orthodontist consult. Dentists didn’t go through orthodontic residency so they are not trained on braces or expanders.

They’ll take x rays and molds/scans and look at your bite and all of that, and the orthodontist will usually bring u into an office with a computer showing your x rays and scans and tell you what they think you’ll need for your treatment but you can ask if you can get an expander

Ur also gonna need an electrical drill, lidocaine, and dental cement and braces/invisalign after because they tend to tip out molars after finishing expansion. What they did for me was after having it cemented to my teeth like this,

they drilled off the bars and kept the TAD assisted thing in. After a couple months, ( I think they said they kept it to help the new bone grow between the expansion? ), they finally removed it with the electric drill and it was surprisingly painless

The gap closes by itself after like 2 months don’t worry, the braces after are usually for bite and crowding

The dental cement is needed to cement the bars onto the molars to push the palate apart, people usually get spacers on the molars so they have space for this
And lidocaine to numb bc it’s painful as hell cranking it through your soft palate into your bone

so the cement is a paste that is added around the molars to allow for the expander to be placed around them, and the lidocaine is to numb the bones/palate in the area so you dont die of pain?

I forgot to mention I also got prescribed antibiotics that I had to take before the installation, like 2 pills and had to keep the rest just in case the TAD site got infected. I had to clean the area with a waterpik after every meal when it was healing
