If you’ve ever done research on how to fix an overbite, you’ve probably found two orthodontic appliances that are used to help; the twin block and the Herbst. They stimulate condyle growth and are often used in growing patients to fix class II malocclusions (overbite). The twin block can be taken off, while the Herbst is worn all day and is attached in your teeth.

Anyway, they basically just advance the lower mandible forward and keep it in a normal bite position for long durations of time. They differ slightly in their application, but keep the same goal and mechanism. Either way, they’re both expensive as shit and my poor situation cannot afford it and I’d assume a lot of you can’t either. So, how do we replicate these effects without emptying our/our parents’ wallets?

Perma-Jut
And do not just push your mandible into an underbite either, you’ll just look retarded.
Permajutting is simple. All you have to do is push the mandible forward, but do NOT push your lower teeth in front of your upper teeth. You want your lower teeth to be slightly behind your upper teeth, but touching. Honestly, you could even line them up as I did that for the longest and still got results, but it’s more effective for the lower teeth to be slightly behind. This will take some time to get used to and you WILL have to be consistent. For me, it only took about two weeks though. Make sure you also chew hard and have proper parafunctional oral habits (mewing and such), but I expect most users to already be doing this so there will be no explanation. This is the same mechanism as the aforementioned orthodonic appliances that you would have to pay thousands for in the US and you get it for free!

My Hypothesis
How and why do I believe this works?

The hypothesis is that constant mandibular advancement through consciously keeping the jutting posture can induce growth-related adaptation in the condyle, temporomandibular complex, glenoid fossa, soft tissues, and the neuromuscular system responsible for controlling jaw posture, causing incremental improvements in Class II bites in growing teenagers. This effect could come from encouraging the condyle to adapt to the new mechanical stress, while stimulating positioning and structural adaptation in the glenoid fossa and soft tissue.

My Experience
Now this is anecdotal, but I’ve seen millimeters of chin growth across the last 7 months and it is definitely significant (This is on top of the immediate improvement caused by jutting, meaning I believe this is genuine periosteal bone formation and bone modeling, not just bone remodeling). It also caused me to have a consistent normal bite except for when I’m eating and my disgusting overbite comes back out, but even when it does come out, it’s much better than it used to be. If I lined up my side profile from back then as to how it is now, it is genuinely mogged to oblivion as my side harmony went up about ~25% just from this. My facial convexities are much better and so is my recession relative to the frankfurt plane and lip assessments. I’m planning to do DIY chin filler and further fix my moderate chin recession and I plan to be pushing 75%-80% side profile harmony with this.

Note: I started doing this under sixteen years old, do not expect as significant of results if you’re older.

Tdlr; Permajutting to imitate orthodonic appliances is effective (anecdotal).

DNR but seems informative

Any solutions if you have a bad bite or a crooked bite? My problem is that one tooth is making contact and preventing me from fully being able to jut properly any help🙏
Sorry bro, you’re gonna have to get an appliance like braces for this one I got nothing. You can try fixing your parafunctional oral habits, but I’d doubt it’ll help much. If you’re low inhib enough you can try to pry out the tooth that’s blocking you from jutting with pliers. Probably a bad idea jfl

if your chin really grew then it wasnt caused by this
And thats a valid take and it may be wishful thinking, but it works very similarly to an appliance like the twin block so I truly believe it did grow my chin

nah it doesnt you are just moving your mandible forward which does nothing

It causes the condyle to be stimulated and studies have found the twin block appliance to increase mandibular base length. Permajutting has the same mechanic as a twin block, so I would think it has similar results.

old guide but @genio

Wouldn't this make your effective palate smaller and make it imposisble to have proper tongue posture

Mewing is cope (at least in the short term) but having incorrect tongue posture for a large portion of your devsloping years doesnt sound the greatest

more of a question i wanted to ask in case i ever tried this

Tbh it may for some people but my palate has been wide enough to support my tongue posture and my jut
I guess i didnt consider other people when i wrote this guide

fair, guides like this work on a case by case basis

A lot of people with super narrow maxilla may not even be able to hold their tongue posture normally, so jutting would fuck their shit even more

for me its possible, but is kind of hard to hold (very tight fit)

Yeah ngl ts shit would only work for someone with a developed maxilla and bad mandible (me)
Really js get a palate expander and start jutting
