How to Mask the Taste of Powder NAC
BY GENIO
Intro
Despite providing health benefits as a powerful antioxidant, NAC tastes and smells fucking abhorrent. This is due to high sulfur content which causes it to have a similar aroma to rotten eggs. This is why you should buy it in pill form, but if you’ve already made the mistake of buying powder (like me), here are some ways to mask the taste.

This is why you should buy it in pill form, but if you’ve already made the mistake of buying powder (like me), here are some ways to mask the taste.
Method 1
Buy empty gelatin capsules and fill them with your NAC powder. You won’t taste it because it’s in a capsule
. They’re super cheap, too; it’s like 500 capsules for $10 on Amazon.
Method 2
Mix NAC into strongly flavored, acidic drinks like sodas, apple juice, grape juice, etc. Since many of these drinks already have strong sulfuric components, the NAC will integrate into the citrus flavor profile, tricking your brain into believing it belongs there. Ideally, make sure the drink is cold to mask the taste even more.
Method 3
Mix NAC into a very small amount of cold water (=<2oz, about a shot glass), then take the drink quickly followed up by eating a small piece of flavorful fruit. You’d want a tropical or citrusy fruit to mask it best. This is the method I use (with watermelon) personally and it works great. I don’t taste much of the NAC at all.
