I think this is my first life

True. So is it to say that our souls are just energy? I worry abt dying. I'll be punished in the next one for sure

I have two theories on "souls".
  1. Not so special - We have no soul, or at least in the traditional sense. We aren't chosen by God, given a spirit and released onto Earth. I believe that the true structure of the soul is purely just electrical signals in the brain. Morality is just the frontal lobe working.
  2. Infinite cycle with finite supply - In this instance, God exists. He has sent a select number of souls (in the traditional sense) to Earth. For each birth and death, souls get brought from one carcass to a creation. The difference in personality is due to differences in the brains.

1) but what abt our subconscious? We aren't really our brains. Our brain is practically a parasite in our bodies controlling us
2) so souls r like bowling shoes being rented out by different bodies in a sense?

1. We don't fully understand the brain yet, the subconscious could merely be the background workings of the brain.
2. Just a theory, a film theory. It corroborates with the first rule of thermodynamics.

I've struggled with religion for a while. I think most people do, but it's more comforting to believe in more spiritual god like things. It gives you answers

It gives cheap answers, answers not backed with science or logic; only blind faith.
It is good to believe in something higher than yourself, but religion just leaves me with so many questions.

Mental deterioration. You continuously work and work and work this menial labour.
It corrodes you, physically and mentally; you view yourself as a cog in the machine.
You become similar, you are no longer different, you are no longer special.
