Elf is a good option
If you have more oily skin I would rec nyx matte finish is also not that expensive

HI GIRL!!! My personal favorite is the NYX marshmallow setting spray- it gives a matte effect and I’ve noticed my makeup stays in place much longer. It’s around $10, but I’ve had the same bottle for over six months now and it’s half empty. If you want double action I first bake with a cheap wet and wild banana powder, and it also mattifies your skin. Good luck 🍀

maybelline fitme was my goto but its a tad dry so i tried switching to the dewy version and/or the elf foundation and that bitch was scented :pepehands: i am a tad sensitive to smells

ok so i tried elf primer one time and i felt like it clogged my pores, i feel setting powder will do the same, or is it not that bad, i rly want to try the viral palladio rice powder too

for reference i want smth like this to last 8-10 hrs (i know its a filter but ive seen makeup be flawless like this irl)

You want to start with a good skincare prep. Serum + Moisturiser + SPF + Tacky primer. (The tackier your primer is, the stronger your makeup will stick to your base). You can also use a setting spray before foundation.

It is important that all your makeup products have the same base - silicone or water based. All water based products will show water first on the ingredient list whereas silicone based products will have anything ending in -cone. Your primer, concealer and foundation should all match.
Also, any cream products you use e.g blush should be sprayed with setting spray THEN setting powder.
It is always best to go for a glowy look from a looksmaxxing perspective (frauding health indicators).

So, the routine I would go for would be:
Skincare, SPF, Primer, Setting spray, (water based) Foundation mixed with Elf Halo Glow, Concealer, Light cream blush (that is a natural colour) Setting spray, Set with powder, Mascara, Eyebrow gel, Lip tint and Gloss. You can also use a natural cream/powder highlight on the cheekbones.

I always think less is more personally!

thats so informative ty currently i think ill go
1. skincare (i use 1 "hydro gel" and a regular lotion)
2. atomy glow base foundation + elf halo glow
3. lip tint for blush (cream blush is lowk expensive)
4. nyx either matte finish or marshmallow setting spray
5. wet n wild banana powder
6. maybelline mascara
7. never had eyebrow gel before, wonder if vaseline works
8. elf's ysl dupe or some korean brand lip tint + elf lip laquer bc that shit stays on forever

Okay the good thing is that your base products all match up and are water based! Yeah I agree, makeup can be expensive but there are lots of drugstore options! Lip tint on the cheeks could be drying but if you don't have a problem with it, then it should be fine.
For setting spray, you should try get one with a glow finish imo since powder is already mattifying.
Eyebrow gel is a great game changer especially if it is tinted, I seriously recommend it.

so im conflicted between dewy and matte bc i know matte makes u look flawless and glowy makes you look healthy/vibrant, my skin is on the dry side, should i go full matte and skip the elf and instead do nyx primer

also i didnt think about the dryness of the tint bruh id have to switch to cream blush, any cheap recs for that asw?

I thinj i have a black tinted eyebrow gel that ive been using as eyeliner by swiping at the brush with my nail and applying it lmaooo its too dark on my brows but ill deffo look into a brown tinted one

I want that shit looking like a mfing painting i like natural makeup asw but i sometimes i love to slather that shit on like im the mona lisa

yep you said everything i wanted to say 😔

but personally my experience with elf halo glow was not good. i broke out in hives but thats probably just a personal thing. ive never been allergic to anything but that though, so it might just prove its not good quality

You have dry skin so I would stay away from matte makeup especially as matte rarely looks flawless irl without already good skin. I always want to say go for a vibrant look as objectively it is always more attractive. For cheap cream blushes, try Kiko, Elf, NYX, any drugstore one tbh.
Yeah, go for an eyebrow gel that is the exact same colour as your brows or else it'll look uncanny!

I literally have to be honest, I never wear makeup nor own much so I can never recommend or say a product is bad 😭

gotchu in that case i might use some setting powder as the only matte thing and the rest will be cream/water based
