lighter skin provides less protection to UV lights facilitating lighter skin individuals to get enough vitamin D in cloudy countries that’s why the higher up you go the less melanin people have naturally

Tho a black person has a melanin rich skin so they won’t get enough vitamin D unless they eat foods rich in it like meat or take vitamin D pills or something

Nowadays it’s hardly a problem since u can easily get access to meat so skin color won’t matter
