Nah it doesn't matter. It's like when people complain about celebrities not sending enough money to charity, or how a youtuber helped a homeless person for views. At the end of the day the world's still slightly better.

your sense of self-worth is pretty fragile if you need to constantly help others just so you feel good about yourself. if it's purely for dopamine, then it's fine, you help others and get the benefit of feeling better (like you said)

No as in like I have not been the best person. Like to make up for past mistakes and regrets I kind of try help people to put peace of mind against what I have done in the past

no, i mean when you feel good in your skin -> you help from position of power (you're not expecting anything back). but you're helping people bc you're insecure of your past (like you said), this will not fix that insecurity, even if it feels good in the moment
