Is the "alpha chad" archetype not ideal for attraction?

Well-known example: female Resident Evil fans almost all simp for Leon (prettyboy/soft chad) but rarely for Chris or Wesker (both of which are typical alpha chads). I also keep seeing examples where women see typical objectively attractive alpha chads as self-obsessed and egotistic. It seems as if halo backfires here sometimes.
So being a classical chad isn't necessarily ideal? Prettyboy/soft chad (more masculine than Timothee Chalamet) is usually more ideal irl?

not sure but here is my theory
many women feel insecure when their partner is more attractive than them so in theory someone who is attractive but not traditionally what people find desirable would be ideal

its like they get the best of both worlds. An attractive man, but they get to keep the mindset of being more desirable than their partner because subconsciously they dont see a feminine man as desirable even though he is

Its only if you wanna attract minors

High testosterone faces attract low testosterone faces. A guy who is just masculine doesn't attract anyone because he is an ogre. And a super feminine guy looks very androgenous and doesn't seem strong. The best place to be is in between

You may be confusing prettyboy with cutecel. Prettyboys are usually masculine enough. Cutecel works as well as long as you're Asian and look like BTS (otherwise it's over)
