how to choose the right pigment color:If you have darkness in your lips you will need to color correct first. I would try the Mara color correcting kit or the evenflo color correcting kit. Do not use too much brown, it doesn't heal nice. Do your research on what number on the Fitzpatrick scale you are so you can choose an appropriate color
step-by-step process for at-home lip blushing
Step 1: Prep and Numb Your Lips.
clean your bare lips and the surrounding area with an alcohol prep pad, use a Q-tip to apply 5% lidocaine on the lips then cover your lips with a plastic wrap for 20-30 mins. once its completely numb u can remove the plastic wrap and wipe away all traces of the numbing cream.
Step 2: Map The Shape
shape the lips with your concealer and brush, don’t overline and look straight into a mirror to ensure both sides of the Cupid's bow and lower lip match perfectly.
Step 3: Application
use your non-dominant hand to pull a section of the lip completely taut and flat. If the skin bounces, the needle will jump and cause scarring.
then start with your machine at speed 5.5 and adjust the needle to 1.7 mm. Dip needle in the ink and start your outline. Go SLOWLY with light pressure and try and keep it super straight.
Step 4: Blushing Effect
Move the needle back and forth rapidly over the skin in tiny, uniform movements, flicking slightly at the ends. clean the area with green soap. if the skin is open and painful, apply a SECONDARY numbing gel with epinephrine. wait 2 mins wipe it off and continue. do not exceed 3 total passes over the same area. overworking the lip skin will cause severe swelling, bleeding, and poor color retention.
Step 5: Post Care
Gently wipe the lips clean one last time with distilled water and apply Aquaphor using a Q-tip.
your lips will look 50% darker and brighter than the final results and that’s normal so dont worry.
