With pharmacology the first and biggest disadvantage is that you have to start ideally when you're like 13 or 14, you have to somehow figure out where to get hgh and aromatase inhibitors from and or androgens, and then you have to consistently take this stuff, you still can't grow past your genetic potential by much, the max we're talking here is 2-3 inches, and that with insane amounts of risk of acromegaly and lower bone density due to aromatase inhibitors, and also this will take years and years to show effect
With current limb lengthening especially current quadrilateral limb lengthening you are guaranteeing growth at any age, if you do a quadrilateral limb lengthening surgery with internalized nails like fitbone and especially if you do staged quadrilateral so femur first tibia second, the absolute MINIMUM height gain you're looking at is 5 inches, you can push it to 6 inches in the midst of the distraction, the success rate is extremely high especially in a high end facility, and you can get like 8 cm in 3 months, you're also guaranteed growing 1 mm per day, it's not just guessing
So within 7-8 months you're 14-16 cm taller, to put this in perspective, someone at 175 cm would be 190+, straight up skipping 180s, not to mention that as long as you did pre hab, and did good PT and everything and training after it's done, in as little as 3 years you're looking at getting most of your functionality back, if not more as there's a chance you weren't athletic enough to be at your absolute ceiling, so in 3 years, if before you had a 22 inch vertical, now that might be 19 or 20, but because of your extra 6 inches, you're actually reaching 4 inches higher than before regardless, you can still run, lift weights etc, the bone will likely be stronger and thicker than the rest of the bones because of wolffs law, and you can also get clavicle lengthening and arm lengthening to match proportions
All of this is guaranteed height gain, therefore pharmacology is cope and once your bones are weaker you can't even get LL without risk
