Feminine Appearance Guide

Thread song

So im making this on a 5 hour plane ride, mainly due to the fact that: A: I've been posting exclusively bs for 2 weeks without anything informative and B: I've seen like 3 posts asking how to be more feminine so here's this. I'll also be talking a lot about makeup, if you're a person who gets pissed at makeup, comment it somewhere else Ion really gaf

Fyi, I'll exclusively be talking about softmaxxes in this guide

Now before we get into this lemme quickly get sum out of the way, that being that yes, this guide could also essentially be called “How to be really high dimo as a woman

Face

Brows
Keep them groomed and shaped. A soft arch tipically looks more feminine than a straight, heavy brow, . Thick brows are always beautiful, but avoid overly blocky or heavily filled-in brows like those British chav girls on TDC. Brow dye can be helpful to darken them more permanently.

Eyes
Curl lashes, use mascara. Dying lashes can be helpful if you've got very light lashes with blonde/ginger hair. Ideally use lash dye for this and not regular hairdye.

Try a thin eyeliner/outer wing. Brown liner can give a softer effect than black. Avoid very heavy eyeliner if you're aiming for softness.

Lips
Keep them hydrated, it can be helpful to apply lipgloss before sleeping as they often dry out during the night.

Use lip liner slightly outside the natural line around the centre. (If you want a more permanent solution though, filler is always better than lipliner). Add gloss to the centre for fullness.

Soft pinks, nudes and rosy colours are easy feminine options.

Makeup as a whole

Example everyday formula:

Skin → concealer → brows → lashes → blush → subtle bronzer → lips

Blush is particularly useful for creating a healthy/youthful appearance.

Hair

Hair is one of the highest-impact feminine features.

Aim for:

Healthy, shiny hair. Medium/long length if it suits you. Face-framing layers. Soft waves or movement. A flattering part. Minimal visible damage. If you have curls, try to get a good balance between definition and softness. Some frizz is often a lot more appealing than extremely defined coils.

You don't need extremely long hair. Healthy, flattering hair mogs maximum length and is easier to maintain and take care of.

Very quick guide on what hairstyles suit what face shape:

Oval: Almost any hairstyle tbh, long layers, soft waves, curtain bangs, or sleek bobs work best though

Round: Styles that add length and definition, like long layers, side-swept bangs, or voluminous hair on top. Avoid very rounded bobs that end at the cheeks.

Square: Soft, flowing styles help balance stronger jawlines. Like loose waves, long layers, curtain bangs, or side parts.

Heart-shaped: Styles that add fullness around the jaw work best. For example chin-length bobs, soft waves, side-swept bangs, or layered cuts.

Long/oblong: Add width instrad of extra length. Waves, shoulder-length cuts, full bangs, and curtain bangs tend to look most flattering.

Diamond: Soft layers and styles with volume around the chin and forehead can balance the face. Side-swept bangs and textured bobs are good options.

Skin and Grooming

Focus on looking healthy and polished.
Basic skincare
Morning: moisturizer + SPF Night: cleanser + treatment if needed + moisturizer
Best options for each of the listed basic skincare products:

Moisturizer with SPF: Best overall: Paula's Choice 5% Vitamin C Sheer Moisturiser SPF 50 - around €54 Budget option: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ SPF50 - around €23.

Cleanser: Best overall: The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser - around €23. Budget option: Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser - around €10.

General purpose treatment: Best overall: Paula's Choice 1% Retinol BOOSTER Serum - around €60. Budget option: CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum - around €20.

Also maintain:

Neat brows, moisturized lips, clean teeth, Soft hands, Neat nails (doesnt mean they have to be from a nail salon, js dont have dirt under them or have them extremely long)

Body

There's not really a single feminine body type but if you want to emphasize traditionally feminine proportions, focus on waist-to-hip contrast/ratio.

In training prioritise:

Glutes, Legs, Core, Overall strength.

Useful exercises:

Hip thrusts, squats, Romanian deadlifts, Bulgarian split squats, lunges, hip abductions

You can't spot reduce fat anywhere, including your waist, so avoid "tiny waist" youtube scam workouts.

Going to the gym is honestly best, but if youre too young or can't afford that rn, there are some good youtube channels you can check out for at home workouts: Caroline Girvan, Heather Robertson, Move With Nicole (although she's like more pilates focused, if youre into that)

Aim for healthy, strong and proportionate, rather than simply bone skinny. Don't fall for the anorexic propaganda.

Clothing

One of the easiest ways to look more feminine is to improve your silhouette.

A useful principal is to always attempt to define the waist.

Try

High-waisted trousers, Fitted tops, Wrap dresses, A-line skirts, Belts, Cropped jackets, Fitted knitwear (Good brands for this include Mango, Massimo Dutti, & Other Stories, Sézane, COS, Arket, Uniqlo and Reiss)

Apparently popular and feminine combinations according to some magazine would be
Fitted top + high-waisted trousers

Fitted top + A-line skirt

Jeans + feminine blouse

Wrap dress

Fitted knit + flowing skirt

You don't have to wear pink sparkly dresses or traditionally "girly" clothes. Good proportions matter more.

Colours

Delicately feminine colours can include:

Cream, White, Blush, Rose, Burgundy, Pastels, Soft neutrals

If you'd like to look more sophisticated rather than just dolly, contrast can be helpful

For example:

Leather jacket + flowing skirt

Jeans + feminine blouse

Blazer + delicate jewellery

Shoes and Accessories

Other than heels, (which are impractical) you could try

Ballet flats, Pointed flats, Slingbacks, Elegant sandals, Slim boots. (Vagabond, Alohas, Pikolinos and Jonak are good brans concerning this)

Details to add to styling

Small earrings, Delicate necklace, Rings, Bracelet, Feminine handbag, Hair accessories

Stick to one or two accessories, more often looks tacky.

Fragrance

Commonly feminine fragrance families:

Floral, Fruity, floral, Vanilla, Soft musk, Powdery, Creamy, Amber.

Use a light amount. If I feel a burning in my nose when you walk past me its too fucking much no matter the perfume. (Good fragrances that would fit this would include: Prada Paradoxe, Narciso Rodriguez For Her, Dior J'adore, Miss Dior, and Burberry Goddess, yes they're expensive, dont hate the player hate the game)

Tldr/ things you should prioritise

Highest impact

Hair, Clothing silhouette, Skin, Brows/face framing, Makeup

Slightly less important but good finishing touches

Nails, Jewellery, Shoes, Fragrance

NOW as a disclaimer for those of you who will be on my hypothetical dick about this

No, you don't not have to be feminine, yes, masculinity in women can be attractive depending on what demographic youre attempting to be attractive to. BUT being feminine as a woman is viewed as attractive by many. No you don't have to do all the things I said in order to be feminine, the things I listed can be helpful in being perceived that way.

That was my ted talk, thank you <3
