What is Minoxidil? (specific)
Minoxidil in our case, looksmaxxing, will be used for eyelashes, eyebrows, and scalp hair growth (if you’re balding). It comes in two forms; oral and topical.
Oral minoxidil is a medicine used to treat both male and female patten balding (anabolic alopecia) and high blood pressure. It’s a vasodilator, meaning it widens blood vessels to improve oxygen flow to the follicles, creating more hair growth and reducing hair loss.
Topical minoxidil is only used for pattern balding within both males and females. It acts as a potassium channel opener which causes hyperpolarization (stabilizes cell membranes) of cells leading to vasolidation. It also helps shift hair follicles into the active growth phase (anagen).

Should you do Oral or Topical?
I’d recommend oral minoxidil if you want to focus on your eyelashes (while getting eyebrow thickness) and topical minoxidil if you‘re specifically focusing on eyebrow growth.
Oral minoxidil causes hair growth everywhere, which can be seen as either a benefit or a side effect (due to unwanted hair growth). Either way, due to this full body effect, it’ll cause your eyelashes to grow and your lashes will mog. Be careful of the side effects though. I will cover them in a later section of the guide.
Topical minoxidil should only be used on the scalp or the eyebrows. It is dangerous for your eyes and should be kept away from your eyelashes. The eyes have a very delicate retinal and choroidal circulation system. This system is highly sensitive to pressure and flow changes that the vasodilation effect of topical minoxidil will affect, potentially causing retinal vascular issues and vision issues.

How to use Minoxidil
Oral minoxidil should be dosed between 0.625mg to 5mg per day with side effects depending on the dosage. I’d recommend taking 1.25mg to 5mg until you’ve reached your desired eyelash/eyebrow thickness, then going to a maintenance dose of 0.625mg per day.
Topical minoxidil should be used in combination with a dermastamp. A dermastamp will create microscopic tears in your skin that stimulate collagen, product absorption, and boost blood flow, creating an obvious synergy with minoxidil. I’d recommend using a 0.5mm to 2mm needle. Dermastamp once a week (avoid overuse) and apply minoxidil twice a day, morning and night.

Side Effects of Minoxidil
Oral minoxidil will be the one with the most side effects, potentially causing low blood pressure, hair growth on unwanted areas of the body, bloating, rapid heart rate, and fluid around the heart (rarely). I’ve taken it for a while and have so far only experienced some unwanted hair growth, but it’s fine by me.
Topical minoxidil should have no side effects if used correctly. Avoid overusing a dermastamp and getting it in your eye. Although, even minimal amounts (the amount applied on your eyebrows for example) are fatal for cats, so cat owners watch out.
Stopping use of either type of minoxidil will cause hair follicles that the minoxidil grew to fall out and you will experience shedding hair. Once you’ve reached your desired point of growth, do not stop using it. Just take a lower dose or apply it less often.

Thanks for Reading!
An extra tip: Use a diuretic (HCTZ recommended or K. Scami D-Bloat when you need it JFL) if you’re taking oral minoxidil to avoid the bloat. Do your research though as many diuretics also lower blood pressure like minoxidil does (including HCTZ).
Another extra tip: Get oral minoxidil off of IndiaMART. Topical minoxidil can be found in foam or liquid form on Amazon and almost everywhere else (Like Walmart).
