i see too many people on these looksmax forums promoting accutane and nothing else when people want genuine skincare guidance, while it is effective, some people are just not comfortable dealing with any side effects that may come with it, it shows the lack of knowledge these "looksmaxxers" have about aesthetics.

so, lets get into it...

a lot of skincare brands don't really work, skincare is a deep rabbit hole which when experienced is very costly, and involves a lot of trial and error, which can be averted if you know what you need.

first of all, i have not mentioned SPF, whichever route you go always use SPF, especially if you're white, ethnics can use as little as SPF 15, white people please use nothing lower than SPF 30.

there are 3 types of skincare levels:
  • normal
  • medical grade
  • prescription grade
below will be spoilers explaining each type...

normal skincare are the regular products which you can get from any store, easily accessible skincare for the mass population, the issue with this line of products is there are a preposterous amount of products which simply do not work; so the best thing you can do is stick to the trustworthy ones and know the difference.

ensure the skincare line is based somewhere in Europe, France is always at the top, you want to stick to Scandinavian, French, Swiss, UK, or other reputable locations.
  • Olay
  • La Roche Posay
  • Neutrogena
  • L'Oreal
  • Caudalie

medical grade products are on an elevated level, not many people need these lines, these are for people with more stubborn skin, skin that needs a bit more discipline than the wider populus, these brands are normally made anywhere in the western world, some may be from Australia. Furthermore, these brands have certain stricter regulations to live up to, and they have much more research behind them than normal products, providing a higher percentage of effectiveness.
  • Medik8
  • Dermalogica
  • IS Medical

prescription grade skincare is the top of the top, and the price indicates this, these are made only for people who are either looking for rapid change, or people with extremely problematic skin, the reason these products are hidden behind a prescription wall is because the ingredients involved are much more stronger compared to anything available on the market, to the point where without correct guidance you could full well damage your skin, making it a much messier situation to recover from, these products are sometimes far beyond dermatologists themselves, nevertheless prescriptions are quite easy to get online nowadays.

these products have rigorous, extensive research before even being released on the already restrictive market, so the guarantee of these products doing what they are advertised to do is near enough 100%, a lot of these products come with guides of use, showing how serious we've gotten in the skin regimen.

of course with products like this, the upside is you don't need large quantities of different products, one cleanser, one moisturiser, one exfoliator, MAYBE one serum, this will still run you a fair amount, but its all you need.

this was just simple guidance on the skin industry as a whole, always review your skin type competently so you know what your skin actually needs to ascend.

Ur skin is one of the biggest health indicators....everything comes from within. Skin care and hair care are pure capitalism. Stop being a slave to the elites and just live a healthy lifestyle.

you're on a looksmaxxing forum but ok... I guess water is enough to get rid of my 1.5mm deep tissue piercing acne scars and severe hyperpigmentation

exfoliation is law my friend, and skin care has been around for thousands of years, but its ok if you want to make up theories as an excuse for not wanting to shower

i was fortunate enough to have a good diet for most of my life, but my skin did not change whatsoever until i started applying skincare.
