My Discomfort/“Fear” for Women is making my “Job” Awkward

I recently picked up a student aide period for my schools main office and it’s pretty awkward rn

Firstly, the entire staff is entirely women which is perfectly fine, it’s nice to see women-ran authorities. The other student aide is also a woman (there’s a male aide but he’s frequently absent). So essentially, I’m a complete minority in this office

I believe most of the women there see me as weird as I avoid possible small talk to a great extent and just do what I’m asked to then read my boox. I don’t even look at them in the eyes when they talk to me

It’s gets really awkward when I notice them trying to make attempts to get to know me. For instance, I’ve noticed the student aide making attempts to get to talk to her, and she’s tried moving her chair closer to me. I also catch her staring at me, maybe bc she thinks i’m creepy lmao. But I don’t pay mind to it and continue to read. She’s a lighter-skinned girl with a nice fashion sense and voice. Can’t rate her bc I never looked at her face lol

It makes it worse that the other male aide is chatty with the women in the office and is great at small talk/communicating with women.

This may be delusion, but I don’t think so. I pay close attention to their body language and the offices mood. I would quit if I didn’t need it badly.

Doesn't seem like a good enough reason tbh, if ur truly extroverted and charismatic.. then you would just talk to ppl regardless of their gender. To me it seems like ur just a little shy or something. But u put on a proud face and say you just choose to not talk to them.
