Need a self-tanning routine for pale/British-tier skin

I have extremely pale skin (literally British-tier white, but I'm not ginger).
I want to start self-tanning as part of my softmaxxing routine to get a healthy color, but I need to avoid the fake orange look at all costs.
Mind you, I'm not aiming for the dark 'bronze surfer' look. For me, just going from ghostly pale to a normal, healthy color would be a massive win.

Few notes:
  • I only care about tanning my face and arms/hands. The rest of my body is covered up anyway, so I'm not doing full-body routines.
  • Current skincare stack:
    • AM: Cleanser > Vitamin C > Eye Cream > Moisturizer > SPF
    • PM: Cleanser > Retinol > Moisturizer
what is the best procedure and product you'd recommend?

Instead of using a full on fake tan a gradual tanning lotion is great! I use the coco & eve one in the winter and it's not too orange, you can reapply daily until you think it's dark enough. Good for face too.

like someone else mentioned, gradual tanning lotion is good
personally i use the bondi sands technocolor self tanner in shade sapphire, i tan my whole body though. it doesnt look orange, it looks very natural on me (pale, cool toned nordic skin)

thanks for the suggestion, is it also for the face?
