Recessed jaw

1. Do I actually have a recessed jaw
2. If I'm 18 what are my options is it only surgery or anything else View attachment 63908
You have an overbite so seeing an orthodentist for invisalign + myobrace or braces with elastics
Or considering jaw surgery + double chin saggy skin removal + hyoid bone manipulation.

In your case i don't think raising the hyoid bone + hyoid muscles naturally will help. Women will not benefit any neck hypertrophy

I'm bmi 23 tho
BMI is not a good indicator of your body comp

It's simply just comparing yourself to percentiles based on a population lol

If you have a small frame or are skinny fat, you can have a BMI that deems you underweight whilst having high bf percentage / sarcopenic obesity

I am BMI 16 but healthy

I'm 23.5 BMI, is that a bad thing?

Not necessarily.

My point is that BMI is just based off the percentiles of your body weight and height vs the population sample

If you have wide frame, a thicker bone structure and higher muscle mass naturally, you could be healthy but at the same time overweight despite being lean enough.

Conversely, if you have a small frame, low musculature but excessive body fat, you can be "normal" by BMI standards but technically have excessive bf or even sarcopenic obesity

The best way to determine health is with just measuring your body comp.

I'm a woman first of all, secondly, people always think I'm thinner than I really am, there are even some girls who think I'm underweight lmaoooo

Bmi 25 is bad, I'd go as far to say over bmi 21 is bad
bmi is slightly overweight, def not ideal but its not crazy bad - 21 isn't bad in a lot of cases, ur forgetting that bmi doesn't take into account of muscle ratio - u don't wanna be skinny u wanna be slim and tones as its the ideal

Get a CT scan asap ,

Thing is it's not just about looks ,

Recession affects a lot of things like sleep apnea, droopy eyes , etc.

Yes u are possible trimax candidate , sfs is also apparent

Overbite + overjet likely.

Go see an orthodontist.

If it's dental issue, they will fix with orthodontics.

If it's a skeletal issue, they will send you to maxfac for surgery.

Probably dental my teeth are partially curved
Try to open your mouth as wide as possible. If your gonions/ramus doesn't hurt, it's likely not a skeletal issue. Well, at least not functional.

It kidnap hurts and pops
Go see an orthodontist. They will measure your overbite and overjet, and evaluate your smile line etc. They will also do a CT scan if they think it's a skeletal issue. Ask for the CT scan and send it to free consult surgeons etc.
