Hi everyone, I’m new here and trying to learn before making any decisions. I have a recessed jaw and crooked front teeth on my jaw, I guess I need braces (I had them in the past but never used my retainers because never liked the final result), palatal expansion, genioplasty, or double jaw surgery. I’m also trying not to waste money on unnecessary treatment. I’d appreciate any advice on what specialist to see first and how to tell whether my issue is dental, skeletal, or both. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

if you have a severe overbite/overjet its likely a dental issue, if your bite is fine then it’s a recessed mandible but it looks to be a combination of both from this photo
