Research on Effective Methods for Collagen Production & Skin Care:

Dermarolling:

  • 400% increase in collagen production.
  • Skin becomes thicker with more than a 400% increase in collagen deposition and a significant rise in elastin. Collagen fiber bundles become thicker, more loosely woven in both papillary and reticular dermis, with a more regular lattice pattern compared to scar tissue.

Retin-A (Tretinoin):

  • 80% increase in collagen formation.
  • Treatment of photodamaged skin with tretinoin led to an 80% increase in collagen I formation compared to a 14% decrease with a vehicle alone. (P = 0.006).
    Source: NEJM

Sunscreen:

  • 56% decrease in collagen formation in photodamaged skin.
  • Collagen I formation was 56% less in the papillary dermis of photodamaged skin compared to skin protected from the sun. (P<0.001).
    Source: NEJM

Red Light Therapy:

  • Increases collagen production (4.6 µg/ml to 36.36 µg/ml after 5 hours).
  • Red light therapy is effective in boosting collagen production.
    Source: PubMed

Copper Peptides:

  • Enhance collagen synthesis and wound healing.

Oral Collagen Supplements:

  • Promising results for skin aging and wound healing.
  • Oral collagen supplements show an increase in skin elasticity, hydration, and dermal collagen density.

    • Oral collagen peptides from bovine bone improve skin laxity and collagen content, though they don’t impact moisture retention.

Fasting:

  • 92% decrease in collagen synthesis.
  • Collagen synthesis significantly decreases in acutely fasted, vitamin C-supplemented guinea pigs.
    Source: JBC

Aloe Vera:

  • Stimulates collagen synthesis.
  • Aloe vera (topically and orally) boosts collagen content and changes collagen composition (more type III), aiding in wound healing and scar tissue strengthening.

Vitamin C (Oral):

  • Promotes collagen expression and production.
  • Vitamin C is essential for collagen formation, and its use has been widely recognized in skin health.
    Source: PubMed

Recommendations for Skin Care:

Cheaper option:

  • Vitamin C: 500 mg/day
  • Tretinoin: Work up to 0.05% (apply every day)
  • Dermarolling: 1mm needles, once weekly (more effective for collagen induction)
    Source: Dermaroller
  • Sunscreen: SPF 15 (blocks 93% of UV rays, offers the best ROI)

More expensive option:

  • Vitamin C: 2g/day (drink enough water to avoid kidney stones)
  • Tretinoin: Work up to 0.05% (apply every day)
  • Dermarolling: 1mm needles, once weekly
  • Sunscreen: SPF 50
  • Bovine Collagen: 200 mg/kg of body weight
  • Red Light Therapy: 15-30 minutes daily
  • Aloe Vera: Topically or orally (topical seems to cause minimal irritation)

Bro where are the gay colours on the titles and the pics n***a what kind of contributor thread is this

Info might be good but without the gay colours and random pics I just can’t

Eh. Not sure how you came to the conclusion that a reduction in collagen synthesis equals more collagen production? Let alone use a guinea pig study as evidence. Here's the study if anyone was curious like I was.
