I misspoke. It's technically against the rules, I added it in the rules that you cannot artificially increase your rep points. It's just not in the moderation guidelines, which is the guidebook I wrote for moderators on how to issue punishments.

It's a gay differences but I thought I'd clarify.
ok give me contributor badge tbh i deserve it after all this

i will ask kali to teach me how to make shitty megathreads with high engagement
When I want to leave this place for good we can make one last bird thread to get your rep back and we both can get banned together kapeesh

It might be because me and Dean are older, but we grew up where you were told not to share something on the internet unless you were okay with it being around forever, because there'd always be a copy of it. "The internet stays forever" and so on.

On .org it makes sense why it's a policy, because they're trying to protect their users from outsiders. But from a moderation stand point it's unusual and won't get you banned on any other site.

Didn't save me from getting doxxed :kekw:

its funny cause I was banned because someone shared an ip to me, that's why I think
We banned you for being dorky about the sharing personal info around. Actually sharing where someone lives or visits is by definition doxxing. Though the user should still probably practice basic opsec and remove metadata, I didn't like how you guys handled it publicly.

The younger generation is pretty ignorant about internet opsec so I feel bad when they eat dirt so badly.

Before you tell me "should've installed opsec :kekw: ." I do and have always kept opsec on my phone which is the way I got doxxed anyway the first time. The second time, my Jewish Chromebook didn't have opsec.

The metadata comment wasn't referring to you, it was about why Night and another user was originally banned.

I don't know anything about your situation. I was just explaining it was more than them just sharing around an IP, they made a public announcement about it instead of trying to privately inform someone they were vulnerable. We're a community and there was no need to publicly target a user like that, even though I understand it probably wasn't malicious.

thanks for clarifying, now I know the reasons of my ban

I should've warned the victim before it happened, but at least I learnt something.
