The biggest red flag

Holy shit, imagine finding the love of your life,
and she doesn't want to sign a prenup...

If you’re engaged to a person who refuses to get a prenup.

jfl if you cave in. That’s gonna cost you an arm and a leg one day

Why take the risk?
I would never have a prenup. It wouldn't be right. Can't take much from someone who would burn everything they have to the ground before giving you a dime anyways.

Well a good person would have filtered out already all the beans from the rocks right?

yea good luck finding a woman thats not gonna dump your ass after asking for a prenup
You’d rather risk losing half your shit while the “love of your life” fucks with some other n***a than be upfront about something like this?

Nice one bro

whats the point of getting married if not merging your life with the person and trusting them? im probably too romantic and old school
Too much divorces & women still want taking everything. A cousin of mine went homeless after losing his house during a divorce, and he was the one who bought it.
Will not happening to me

I'll buy my house anyways single or taken, and the mother of my children will have the house once i'm dead

It's common here in France

Outdated marriage laws, women now work and earn as much, if not more than men so...

A lot of people can change there mind later on as the relationship gets deeper and more problems come up that can't be quickly resolved

The people here have a fairy tale way of seeing relationships. They don’t have any idea how fast things can change and how easily.

You might genuinely feel like someone is “the one” for you forever at one point. And that’s fine.

But if you don’t take precautions, you’re just an idiot.

How can someone disagree with this when 50% of marriages end up in divorce? Everyone thinks they’re the exception. They’re not.

Statistically prenup will become the norm in few decades because women earn more than men and we can see now women applying the "hypogamy", meaning they don't settle for a provider with money but for a guy they are genuinely physically sexually attracted too.
And ain't no way women will like tasting their sisters medecine

Damn, I didn’t know about this hypogamy stuff. All the more reason to looksmax.

It’s good that it’ll become the norm in the future. I think it’s a bit silly to uphold these “old school values” if all you’re doing is fucking yourself over for the future

That’s what they all think, then they get cheated on. What then?
Life happens, you keep moving on, if i already have an estate then i would have better lawyers, and laws in my country are pretty fair in that regard.

As well im pretty diplomatic and have always found a balance into striking deals and arrangments with my companions so we always leave pretty good and satisfied.

And if i got cheated then i was doing something wrong in my relationship, ain't saying i would come back to her my trust has been broken and it could never be rebuilt.

So you’d blame yourself instead of the woman who wronged you? That already tells me the kind of person I’m talking to. Sure, you both have your problems but that’s what COMMUNICATION is there for.

Stop being a fuckin cuck. There’s no excuse for cheating and there’s nothing wrong with being cautious.

Why let a situation you can prevent happen to begin with? You won’t need to consult a lawyer and all that other shit if you just got a prenup

Cope tbh, some people even cheat in happy relationships because they want to experience some sort of dopamine, obviously if you're giving her no attention at all and you're treating her like shit it's your fault, but even if you do everything perfect some people always cheat. Same counts for men too obviously, you can do everything for him and he'll still end up cheating

Untrue, desire & attraction CANNOT be negociated
They can leave a good guy they dgaf

The "mediocre men epidemic" meaning they will not settle down with an ugly dude. Nowadays women have money so they haven't the urge to LTR at a young age, and now they rather die single than dating their looksmatch lmao

Why did this shit have to happen during MY time on this Earth 😭😭🙏🏾

Couldn’t they delay this shit for another hundred years. Man this is some bullshit. I’m glad I’m at least aware of this unlike the countless clueless normies

That's why i'm glad my gf doesn't have that mindset

Crazy story when i was a manager she was working near my store as a saleswoman, and we like talking few times before, saw her frequently etc and one day i've found out she had a big crush on me so i asked her out and now here we are, close to 9 months together, living together etc

Well my opinion is based on sufi mysticism and the seven stages of love as a model. In it, you would understand that everyone has it own faults and and there's a disillusionment with the person that not everyone can recover from. But a different kind of commitment. As well with my companions my main interest is to build a life together, projects companies and to avoid friction at the most.

And yes there's no excuse for cheating, but you have to put yourself as well on the eyes of those who cheat Assuming, that nobody leaves eden for the unknown but one is expelled from it.

There's obviously serial cheaters but not everyone has that flaw, and you could filter out by looking at their last relationship as well as having a longer courtship, more time spent as boyfriends. And yes, there's no bad side of engaging with caution, but extreme caution erodes the trust in the relationship.

As well on a different understanding of love i believe, i read John Milton's paradise lost and came to my realization that love is a choice and we choose the ones we love at the end.

And well maybe it's my catholic/jewish upbringing speaking through me but tbh, marriage it's only between god and you.

That’s so cute

Way better than “I met her on a dating app”

Well, i haven't experienced it and no one i know has so could be. i don't know

I respect that your opinions come from a deep philosophical place and I agree that when it’s healthy, love is a conscious, chosen commitment. But that’s exactly why a prenup makes sense. It's a recognition that even the most tightly knit commitments sometimes fall apart, not a rejection of love.

You said extreme caution erodes trust, but I’d say blind trust erodes self respect. A prenup isn’t planning for failure it’s in case failure happens. Think of it like a seatbelt: we wear them not because we expect to crash but because we value our lives.

You talked about feeling “expelled from Eden”. That’s where accountability comes in. It doesn’t mean the cheater gets to burn down the garden on their way out.

Asking for a prenup isn’t distrustful or disrespectful. It’s mature and protects both people. If you truly loved this person why wouldn’t you want to make sure both parties were safe if things go south?

Tbh, i don't know how to respond to this.

You changed my perspective on it, but haven't changed my determination to not get one. As i stated i think it is because of my religious upbringing and my lack of self respect and seeing as to be loved i have to give and renounce.

That’s fine. Let’s just agree to disagree then

It’s clear we hold different values
