Just some advice for you all, hope you give it a read as I wish learned this stuff sooner.
- Don’t reject yourself so others don’t have to do it for you. Protecting yourself from it by doing it yourself will only lead to nihilism and self hatred.
- When you are rejected, don’t stew in it. If you do so it will cause you to be cynical and have a hostile view on the world and the people, whilst also being scared of and hating it at the same time.
- Forgive. Doesn’t matter the injustice, do what it takes to forgive. If you wear vengeance like armour you’ll become what you seek to destroy.
- Being late to life doesn’t mean it’s over. You either get caught up in the nihilism that you’re behind and suffer or be grateful that God has blessed you with a second chance to go again.
- Don’t wait and protect yourself to learn from your mistakes, honestly you make more progress making mistakes and learning from them rather than protecting yourself from them.
- Perfectionism is the enemy of good. Similar to the saying of comparison is the thief of joy, be grateful of what you have rather than being stuck in the cycle of craving what someone else has. ‘If you look to others for light, you’ll forget how to kindle your own.’
- Find faith in God, genuinely. You may not need it now but you’ll pay the price without it later, just because you’re young isn’t an excuse to put it off. I know someone who I went to school with get drunk, fell into a river and drowned this year alone. He was only 20. Death spares no one.
- If you live for other’s approval, you’ll die by their judgement. If you seek permission to live your life from others, you’ll forget who you are and you’ll realise far too late it was for nothing if you don’t get this now.
- Don’t be afraid to be ambitious but also don’t be afraid to fail. Life can flip your life upside up easily just as it can down.
- Be careful of the habits and thought processes you form, especially when you’re young. You will enjoy misery’s company until you want to stop it, and it’s a long road to recovery once you’re ensnared by it. You can overcome it but just warning you.
