Hi I have moderate TMJ pain and a recessed jaw, a deep overbite and forward head posture, he recommended orthodic device that serves as a day and night splint to help push my jaw forward in its proper position to avoid teeth grinding and clenching and better airway for sleep, though a temporary solution. Also my nasal cavity is inflamed which makes it difficult to breath. I Was wondering if i should seek another consultation from an orthodontist or seek out an OMFS Specialist that also specializes in TMJ To get a second opinion. Or should i just follow through his plan and pay 5k? Before seeking any orthodontic treatment. I’m hoping to fix my recession as aesthetics are also a big concern for me.
