NUMBER 10: MIDFACE RATIO
Ideal: 0.93 - 1.01
- Measured by dividing interpupillary distance by pupil-to-lip distance.
- A compact midface is seen as more youthful and feminine while a longer midface is seen as older and masculine (as it shows a taller skull). You ideally want to be in this ideal range to be male dimorphic, yet still look young.
NUMBER 9: MOUTH WIDTH TO NOSE WIDTH
Ideal: 1.38 - 1.55
- Measured by dividing mouth width by nose width.
- A wide mouth signifies a wide palate which would mean your airways are functioning properly, signaling proper development. A slim nose is a sign of better immune health and enhances symmetry.
NUMBER 8: JAW FRONTAL ANGLE
Ideal: 85 - 95
- Measured through making an angle with four points; Both sides of the chin and both sides of the bottom of the masseter.
- An ideal jaw frontal angle signifies the strength of the lower third, meaning high testosterone and fertility. A higher than ideal JFA be caused by being higher body fat, which would signal bad health to your partner.
NUMBER 7: CHIN TO PHILTRUM
Ideal: 2.05 - 2.55
- Measured by dividing the chin length by the philtrum length.
- A short philtrum signifies youthfulness and good health, while a large chin signifies proper development and masculinization. The combination of these two will make your face young and dimorphic.
NUMBER 6: BIGONIAL WIDTH
Ideal: 85.5% - 92%
- Measured by dividing the jaw width by the cheekbone width.
- This is one of the biggest indicators of male dimorphism in harmony. It is crucial to have a wide jaw to signal high fertility and masculinization.
NUMBER 5: TOTAL FACIAL WIDTH TO HEIGHT
Ideal: 1.33 - 1.38
- Measured by dividing the length of the face by the width of the face.
- Large indicator of good genetics as it should stay similar to the average during growth. Significant differences in this ratio can signify bad genetic execution and a lesser immune system.
NUMBER 4: CANTHAL TILT
Ideal: 5.2 - 8.5
- Measured by creating a straight line through the medial canthus and a line through the lateral canthus that also touches the medial canthus. The angle that these two create is the canthal tilt.
- An ideal upward tilt signifies youthfulness and alertness (like the term “hunter eyes”). An unideal downwards tilt can be seen as being tired or melancholic, which is unhealthy.
NUMBER 3: FACIAL THIRDS
Ideal: 37% (± 2) lower third, 32% (± 2) middle third, 31% (± 2) top third
- Balanced facial thirds are biologically a large indicator of health and, obviously, balance. A larger lower third is a sign of high masculinity and fertility.
NUMBER 2: FACIAL WIDTH TO HEIGHT
Ideal: 1.9 - 2.06
- Measured by dividing the cheekbone width by the middle third + philtrum length.
- The most striking feature on this list. A compact FWHR signals strength and masculinity as bizygomatic width and low set eye brows are both large indicators of dimorphism.
NUMBER 1: EYE SEPARATION RATIO!!!
Ideal: 44.3% - 47.7%
- Measured by dividing the interpupillary distance by the cheekbone width.
- THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT RATIO AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!! If your ratio deviates too far from the norm, it signifies congenital health anomalies like hypertelorism, even if you don’t have such a thing. Even being remotely associated with such anomalies is horrible for your harmony.
