I agree besides the counting calories is useless part
Calorie counting is pointless because the science is flawed, the FDA accounts for 20-40% error in calorie counting. Also calorie is a unit of heat, we cannot eat heat energy but mass. Also we don’t combust our foods, for example “our phones contain 2000 cal which means when we combust our phone we get 2000 cal worth of heat energy”, we biochemically process our food, not combust them. Also calories are measured in a closed thermodynamic system via caloriemeterbomb, we are open thermodynamic system so it doesn’t make any sense.

Yeah calorie counting isn’t perfect but it’s not useless either. We’re not combusting food but our bodies do convert it into energycalories just help track that

Ok why is that bad?
anti nutrients+
Anti nutrients aren't as scary as they sound bud. The main problem with most of broccolis anti nutrients is minimal zinc loss and that's with a overdose of broccoli, in healthy amounts it doesn't matter at all.
thyroid function
Bro u have to eat hella raw broccoli for this to occur bud, it's possible yes but it goes back to the anti nutrients part just have a healthy thyroid and don't eat broccoli like u would a cake.

This doesn't mean much at all, it's a healthy source of Vit K, C, Folate i'm pretty sure, helps with gut movement, u know that weird feeling you get in your stomach after eating broccoli that's it working it's magic. It's not a bad source of a vegetable at all.

Vitamin k1 cannot be processed by us, we need vitamin k2 lmao

Sure vitamin C, but we can get it from fruits.

Gut movement lmao, nope

Fiber causes bloating, constipation, and also blocks the absorption of nutrients

Can u drop a source for this so i can learn.

Well if a food is 600 calories, how do you know if we convert the food into 600 calories? The 600 calories conversion is only possible in a closed thermodynamic system, we humans are open thermodynamic system

Calorie counting isn't 100% accurate but it still works if you want to lose weight

It did not work for me though, I ate 3000 cals worth of meals but I still was losing weight even though my maintenance calories was 2000 cal, I gained weight when I started eating more meat and eggs and fruits.

Calorie’s doesn’t apply to everyone, there are many people who eat way less food and are still gaining weight, to lose weight, u gotta fix ur metabolism and go on ketosis

What the fuck is the spinach study meant to prove? It's a study about people eating 100g of spinach by itself or eating it with milk/cheese. How did you come to the conclusion that spinach is bad for you based off of this study? If you're concerned about the oxalate content, then the study you linked says that eating it with something else (in this case cheese/milk/calcium-rich foods) will reduce the oxalate content.

The broccoli is a rat study and it says it helped. The 'Abstract' of a study is different than the 'Conclusion'. The study says that the broccoli sprouts do not have harmful effects on thyroid homeostasis, as the levels of TSH, fT3, and fT4 remained the same. :sadcat: I don't have access to the full study but I still don't know how you came to the idea broccoli is bad for you.

Spinach study proved that 75% of calcium binds with the oxalate content of the spinach which is one of the leading causes of kidney stones.

As for broccoli I will look into it more

Also large number of oxalate consumption can stunt growth during development

I understand better. I guess I don't understand how consuming less calcium via spinach should result to you cutting it out of your diet, when most people eat spinach on other foods like pizza or something. Like, the study says it's not really a concern if you substitute the loss of calcium. It's not going to be harmful to a majority of people who eat it.

Are you saying that because you get less calcium from spinach due to the oxalate, that spinach inherently hinders growth during development? People don't use spinach as their primary dish.

Nah bro u need vit k2 in everything to adhere to a healthy diet bro!

Yea, but why do u need spinach? Like list out the nutrients

It's just yummy to a lot of people. A lot of people eat shit because of the taste not because everything is nutritionally efficient.

But also just to name one because I'm not going to break down every nutrient in spinach (sorry), it's high in Vitamin A. You normally have to boil it but most people don't eat spinach raw and the people that do do it for the love of the game.

Spinach doesn’t have vitamin a, it has beta carotene which cannot be efficiently converted into vitamin a by most humans, also spinach has non haem iron and vitamin K1 which are both useless

Elaborate?
they are all healthy

they are low calorie, high in fibre, have good micronutrients, and have antioxidants

fucking retarded to call them unhealthy

stop spewing bullshit you see on tiktok

and if you are scared of oxalates you are retarded

Vegetables are pro- oxidant for humans, high fibre is bad, low cal doesn’t mean healthy, what micronutrients?

“Scared of oxalates” lol, we can tolerate only 30 mg of oxalates, spinach has 300mg

Most people think spinach is some super food, no, if u wanna eat it, then fine, but u should not eat it thinking that it is healthy
