To be reincarnated into a better life, you must have good karma. Karma comes from good/bad acts. The thing with buddhism is you will always want someone to need help.how so
why you have one called sasa
that’s the case for most religionsTo be reincarnated into a better life, you must have good karma. Karma comes from good/bad acts. The thing with buddhism is you will always want someone to need help.
For example, a buddhist gives $20 to a beggar. What a good dead! He's getting good karma.
The next day, the beggar is gone, he's ascended and living lavishly with his $20. The buddhist can no longer get good karma from him.
But... if the beggar were to throw the money away, the buddhist can keep giving him money. In turn, he will keep recieving good karma. To simplify it, the buddhist would prefer for the beggar to stay destitute.
All of their good deeds are for selfish returns. But again, they still commit good deads. They're not bad people, just self-centered.
lemme follow
Christian reward is more based on faith/devotion, whereas buddhism is more about good deeds towards others.that’s the case for most religions
what could is christian charity if not for heaven?
Yeah, religious ethos is necessary for larger society. Most people are not strong enough to form their own morality. I would hate to imagine a secular, libertarian world. It would be fucking hell.humans are inherently selfish and having a divine institution lead you down a path of good deeds, whether or not it be for the promise of something better, is morally justifiable because without that “bribery” there wouldn’t be proper community and/or goodness

no necessarily christianity is a mix of bothChristian reward is more based on faith/devotion, whereas buddhism is more about good deeds towards others.
exactly, it’s more than appropriate to justify “moral” acts of charity and help for religion because we wouldn’t function any other wayYeah, religious ethos is necessary for larger society. i have a lot to say about this LOL but yes i agree i just dont feel like typing it all rnPeople usually say that religion was bad for society, but I think not. It was necessary as a source of hope, values, and community over the many years.
Ye ye, I'm a catholic school boyo too. I think that's just the community surronding Christianity. Obviously, Jesus taught to treat others how you would like to be treated etc etc, but when it comes down to it, all you must do is accept Jesus into your heart.no necessarily christianity is a mix of both
i’ve been going to catholic school forever and there’s an absurd push for community service it’s required for everyone but whatever for the sake of the argument it’s the same in islam where charity is one of the pillars
that’s very true but mirroring His life and ministry is also very importantYe ye, I'm a catholic school boyo too. I think that's just the community surronding Christianity.
