Tbh, I was catastrophizing. I'm not sure why that stylist said that was the best she could do, because a few days prior I used pomade to see how well the corner could be hidden. If a professional styled it in a similar direction it would likely look better than today's hair style. That lady must have had a fixation on only passively fighting cowlicks or something.
