Do you have a chin that might look like this?:

Well this most likely isn’t a structural issue,it’s tension of the surrounding and main muscle (the mentalis).
Understanding which muscles could cause this is important, let’s look at the anatomy!

The mentalis muscle is a skeletal muscle that is connected with the frontal part of the mandible,it’s responsible for moving the chin up and down for certain expressions and it’s responsible for part of your chin projection. The usual relaxed position should be pointing downwards and straight,if not then it might be tense.

The orbicularis oris is mainly responsible for basically lip movement,it also plays a role in how the mentalis acts.
What to do?
Massage the mentalis muscle gently for as long as you like during the day in a downward motion, this should generally relieve tension in the mentalis. For the orbicularis oris do the same except in a sideways motion,it will generally help but you the mentalis plays the biggest factor.
Important note:
This won’t work for everyone,it has worked for me but if you’re genuinely recessed this won’t save you. This also theoretical and the only person I could think of trying this is me,but it dosen’t hurt to try!
I hope this could be to useful for some people here because I can understand that such as a chin looks unaesthetic. Mandy out!
