Tilt your head back and take a deep breath before talking, but only do it if you aren't going to talk much
 
I wrote basically the same thing in another thread, but you need to change where you're "pushing your voice". Someone else posted a video explaining it and the exercise to do. However, you cannot loosen your vocal cords more than you naturally are able to (without like taking test or surgery), you can only tighten them to train them to go higher.
