What deficit is ideal for weight loss?

Before the stone cold trvecells come at me, im at bmi 21 and am trying to reach 17-18. I'm at a deficit of 1800 cals a day but i feel like i could make it on a thousand per day. Does anyone know the optimal approach?

do not exceed a deficit of 500 calories imo

any more you could start losing muscle, and other poor health affects both physically and mentally

You could do 1k cals a day, but if you find it kinda hard just progress everyday until u eat less cals. You can also lose weight regardless. I was once 17 bmi and all i ate was mcdonalds & snickers everyday and havent gained weight. Just know that its all abt movement & diet !! U can do this and i believe in you. Its really easy if yk how to fast too

tysm! what movement do you reccomend? usually people reccomend walking but i'm just checking...

Hii sorry for the late response but jogging and walking lots (maybe even running) !! Id recommend like 15k steps. When i was 17 bmi tbh i didnt really need exercise, just a fast metabolism and light workouts. I hope this helps :)
