1. Introduction
We all use facial width to height ratio to measure ideal face shape.

But this is completely wrong. Using one ratio to determine how ideal your face shape isn't accurate. The same way we don't say that someone has ideal eyes if he has positive canthal tilt. We need to use multiple measurements to do it.

5 main components of ideal face shape are TFWHR, facial thirds, FWHR, midface ratio and facial index.

2. Example

According to TFWHR method this face has ideal ratio of 1.35 (ideal range is 1.33-1.38). Does his face shape look ideal for you?

For me this face looks kinda too short and wide.

Let's find out about his facial index and facial thirds.

So this is his giant forehead making his face longer than it should have been.

3. Conclusion
So the truth is that we can't just use one ratio and say that someone has ideal face shape. We need to use multiple measurements to determine if it truly is.

Also, this thread was created mainly for men. The ideal proportions for men and women are not the same.
Ideal ranges for women:
1.26-1.33 TFWHR
1.8-2.0 FWHR
0.82-0.87 facial index
1:1 midface
Equal facial thirds (tall lower third is ideal for men)
