People say that there’s inflation in the attractiveness self rating / ego of women, but ngl an ugly (“subhuman” rating not ltb) woman has it way harder than an ugly man does. There are billions of men who live beyond their looks, elephant man could exist and thrive in modern times. An ugly woman really can’t. I was thinking about it recently and the significant attachment to beauty standards, the rigid social hierarchy, and the fact that most women who can succeed in the workforce have to be beautiful to break the 150/200k salary barrier really makes it so there’s just no way some of these women can survive in this world. Not a performative male thread I’m just retarded

men have other things to compensate with instead of looks compared to women

primally, a woman's worth was just her looks and practically nothing else lmao, however a man's worth could be defined by multiple different things. for this reason, it makes sense for looks to be valued for women in today's society

however, this does not mean they have it harder. looks only matter more for women compared to other things men have, not in the general sense
