how to work out in the gym but not to grow in size? so to speak to work on strength and not on muscles.before that I worked out almost a year and gained ~27-28 lb and then decided for myself that I do not want to be big.in general how do I work out to not grow muscles but to grow strength?

my best advice is to just do low sets and reps with your workouts, 3 sets of 5. Don’t bulk. I was like this in my first year of training I got stronger but I didn’t grow in size all the much as a maintained a sub 15 BF%. But it’s kinda hard to not grow and gain strength
 
Just workout then gave up for a few weeks or try cardio instead

Calisthenics and keep same calorie intake, also why wouldnt you want mass?
 
estrogen. estrogen will increase muscle stamina and strength while you will still appear weak
