Sucks for u man

lowkey feel bad for him because religion is one of the last copes a truecel has
Nah, I don’t feel for him the way I feel for the non religious ones. For all we know this depression is a test pulling him closer to God. God could have stripped away the people in his life so that the only door left to knock on is god’s door.

And yes you are right that if you have no earthly success, being non religious will fuck your will to live

(Not on some fear mongering shit, this is just true)
Also let’s be honest even we the religious ones get deluded by this worldly life. Some of us think we need to hit some worldly success quota before we’re grateful. This is pure arrogance. Acting like god owes us something before we will believe in him.

Life is simple but it is is who make it hard.

You’ve got one slot in your heart for a priority. Either god comes first and the worldly life comes second and that doesn’t mean you abandon the world, just stop worshipping it, or vice versa.

And the moment you put god second, we should not act surprised when he returns the favor.

I used to put god first for years and my life just got worse
and when i wanted to kill myself due to depression i read the bible and prayed a lot
i read that if i put god first everything else will come
but it just got worse
and my bad mental health made me have aggresion issues and stuff like that->making me sin more often
but im talking about the christian god not allah.

Probably the most frustrating part about religion as a religious person myself

Like its basically impossible to avoid sin if nobody likes you and you have no social life

You will naturally develop envy and hatred for people who have it better than you

I cant really give advice other than to thug it out, which might sound like cope but it is what it is

As I'm a Muslim and not a Christian I can give my opinion only from an Islamic perspective. In Islam, the principle that you're misinterpreting is called ibtila meaning trials and tribulations.

As stated in the Quran: "do people think they will be left alone saying 'we believe' and not be tested?" (29:2).

So tested. not rewarded on the spot. your life getting harder after turning to god doesn’t mean he abandoned you. It actually describes the experience of people he actually cares about.

The Prophet Muhammad was asked who faces the hardest trials, he said: the Prophets, then those closest to them, then the next level down.

So in Islam it’s suffering scaling with closeness.

So yes if you put god first, be sure everything follows. But brother not on your timeline, nor in the shape you imagined, and not without you also getting off your ass.

Islam does not see trust as passivity. Do what you can, then trust in Allah. Do not overlook the first part and hope that things will come from above.

Like I said this is the islamic perspective for the christian one it’s better to ask a christian.
