writing parsers is extremely difficult, almost comparable to cryptography

Ur giving me ptsd flashbacks to a compilers class I took. Ended up dropping it cause I didn’t hve the motivation to do the work. Also missed out on asking out one squishy girl in the class that was hitting on me, cause of PSL autism. Rand has made so many mistakes maynnn :sadge:

Compilers are even extra because Turing completeness and machine code generation on top of extremely brutal parsing

its okay bro, can focus on capitalizing the next time
I did this just recently

Yeah it was a lot. Rly wish I had the drive and went through the class, was actually pretty interesting while I was paying attention to it. Especially the different ways u can optimize them

most likely no next times for this unc unfortunately. I’m done with college. Only way to meet girls is through dating apps, and I’m too awkward to go on a date from the get go. No social circle so can’t rly have a friends to relationship thing/slow burn thing, so yeah it’s jobaaa

social circle seems to be the way
clubs
volunteer work maybe
religion probably isn't your thing but thats a way

Also, going back to the compiler class, it's really annoying that generic CS classes engrain writing adhoc parsers and adhoc inputs into you from the start. Sure it's good for "learning" but pretty much every program made in those classes can be brutally abused

n***a just use antlr to autogenerate your parser

My reasoning for this is that antlr seems to focus on syntax (I could be wrong)
When there is typically always context required in what you are parsing and how you are using it
There are many formats that require more defensive parsers
which is why you split your compiler into multiple stages to handle those more complex stages
unless you need to parse a context sensitive language for some reason, at which point what are you doing?

Don’t rly hve any of that in my small town/city, gotta drive like 30min for allat
volunteer work maybe
Yeah guess I could try that
religion probably isn't your thing but thats a way
Yeah def not lol, not at all religious. Even if I was I don’t want a paaajeeeetaaaa jfl

maybe I could ldsmaxx for a Mormon wifey :blobdance:

I mean the whole point of those classes are to teach u the fundamentals though. And a lot of them are a part of a series, it’s usually the intro classes that are like that

mormon might be a method ngl
some of them are hoes doe

I get that and all but it still is a bad habit icl
programs are fundamentally about inputs for the most part
and you're never taught how to handle inputs properly
I'm not saying it should be the forefront but just saying "input is expected to be trusted" isn't really enough to emphasize how brutal untrusted inputs can be

Rly? So jobbaaa mayn :sadge:

Idk bro, input checking just seems like a different topic. I’d take away too much time if they covered all the ways a program could break, for an intro class. And it isn’t like they completely ignore it, they’ll usually make sure ur programs pass basic tests

Rly? So jobbaaa mayn :sadge:
at least i think so
some probably surely still follow it like everything
are you positive there is zero circles could get yourself into?

For an intro class yes
But it isn't just about all ways a program can break its how you can write programs to prevent them from breaking in the first place
And yeah they make sure they pass tests but thats only trusted inputs for basic functionality

I had a Mormon housemate for a few months, dude was hella chill :catjam:

Most people from my area know each through school, being neighbors, or like through work. I lived in like a boonies part of town, so never rly had neighbors with kids my age, the few friends I had from school either moved away or we just completely lost touch. And I’m NEET rn, so no work friends ofc. So yeah, finding something part time is the only thing I can think of that’d help

Well I get what ur saying, but that’s why they’re intro classes bro. The more advanced ones will cover all that

what about farmers markets? Underrated for nt max
And yeah part time might be a good idea

We hve one downtown every saturday morning

What would I do there alone though, cold approach?

make friends with guys tbh or
I feel like I’d hve better chances of getting a number than getting an actual guy friend from a farmers market though lol, in other words, very slim odds

Like wouldn’t u say the farmers market demo tends to be single women, women in groups, or couples, or families? The few times I went I rarely saw guys my age alone, don’t think I’ve ever even seen a group of guys, atleast guys my age, at one
talk with people from the stands
U mean like the people working at the stalls? Ig I could do that, they’re usually old people though lol

Yeah fair enough. Farmers market just seems like great social max
Maybe bowling? Or chess?
Bowling probably ideal

Connections are connections and socialization etc
Perhaps they can hook you up

interesting
Y

Yeah I mean ig I could try practicing social skills there

Our bowling alley closed last yr unfortunately, and idk anything about chess

I think my granddaughter would LOVEEE to date a 5’3 deathnic NEET with no friends

Said no oldhead ever bhaiii :sadge: idk, couldn’t see that ever happening, well if larp my age maybe, but I don’t wanna lie :bongotap:

Idk I always see dudes there
Yeah I mean ig I could try practicing social skills there
Definitely worth it

Damn. Are there any even close the area?

Brutal. I guess still connections are connections and social interactions at the very least

Idk I always see dudes there
Perhaps this unc is just out of date when it comes to trends. I will go next week and report back :bongotap: :blobdance:
Definitely worth it

The next city away, so again like a half hour drive
Frfr maynn:sadge:TFL till my casket drop:catjam:
