Girls can determine attractiveness in ~100ms, however study’s show in the following 5 minutes there initial findings are still flexible.
This idea can make someone below the looks threshold of a person be perceived in a romantic/sexual way even when they fall below the threshold.
So how?
I hypothesize now that we understand step 1 really well (face) we understand step 2 (flirting)
To detect it is hard but I think I have a “general proof” on how to do it and using it we can understand how it’s hard to 100% spot
1. Intent is there. You actually mean it romantically or sexually. No intent and it’s just behavior someone read into.
2. It’s not just friendliness. It carries a charge a platonic version of the same line wouldn’t.
3. It stays deniable. If called on it, you could plausibly walk it back. The moment you can’t, it’s not flirting anymore.
4. It’s aimed at a specific person. Not broadcast. Directed.
5. It leaves room to be read as interest. There has to be a door for them to walk through.
Miss intent and it’s nothing. Miss deniability and it’s a confession. Miss the charge and it’s friendship.
Now that we know how to do it… why can’t it we spot it?
BECAUSE ITS BY DESIGN
In order for it to be flirting it needs deniability
You can’t KNOW intent or even KNOW what they actually mean (because there is 2 ways to interpret it)
TLDR (flirting is solvable?)
