1. no outside chemicals
2. less likely to irritate cuz lack of chemicals
3. exfoliates
4. deep cleansing

lye, or sodium hydroxide, by itself can be dangerous. but when it gets turned into soap it isnt. you need to find a reputable seller tho
if you want to make it at home you need to be very meticulate bc of the lye
