The hate that Black people and poc in general receive in this community is appalling seeing some of their faces are the standard for what people are trying to achieve.

I genuinely don't understand why white people are the standard for beauty

maybe it's because they are the master race all you see in western media, same reason why so many global websites speak mostly English. Chinese mainly have their own internet and media, same with Japanese, the Koreans less so, that's why you see some modern people and industries glaze them (though only recently). The third world has various reasons for why they lack notoriety in western beauty standards:
  1. Worse racial segregation; key examples of this are India, South Africa, and any in SE Asia. The worse segregation makes only those of European descent the top of the pecking order; they are the richest, most successful, and have the biggest presence on social media and other influencers of beauty standards. All the other reasons mainly stem from this.
  2. Past conditions; because of colonization, all of the past global beauty standards were based on who had the power, which was whites. This was built upon by the newer standards.
  3. American cultural domination; same as the first sentence. The foundations of the internet were American, movies are American, shows are American, fashion is American.
The combination of all three of these is why black people specifically are viewed negatively by beauty standards. Most media is American; for many years (maybe even now) Americans, who have power in these industries, did not like blacks because of ---yadda yadda slavery and all that--- and these past conditions influence the current standards. This is the same in most countries, so it's an echo chamber at this point. The only non-white race that has a chance currently are Asians of specific descent, and even then I would argue that is superficial. The structures of bones being a key part in attractiveness should get rid of these baises over time, like what the french did in their first few revolutions, but that time isn't now.

Or people on this forum are racist idk
