I personally think that being good looking makes a man (or woman, but we’re talking about men rn) admire and see you as something special and valuable. I don’t really believe in the whole love thing since it relays on looks.
My point is that the reason that men still “tap” below average women is desperation for sex, which doesn’t actually mean that men have lower standards, but just that they care more about the act itself rather than who they do it with (if they’re not able to pull above their league). We all care about looks, let’s just be honest, the only difference is that men still have sex/relationship with women they actually don’t like (and respect as well, since men only treat right women they find attractive).
The point of this thread is not openly hate on men (I may have used the wrong title, but I think it was adequate for a discussion with WOMEN, I repeat) , but underline the fact that both genders are deeply influenced by the bp.
I’d say that is women do rely on makeup and have inflated egos, but doesn’t change the fact that we’ve been pressured into bp/looksmaxxing way before men even knew what taking care of themselves was, because society is patriarchal , and even if it may seems like we are the center of attention and such, we’re just pretty trophies and sexual entertainment for men. Our role in life is basically to be attractive and capture men’s attention, it’s something that we feel the duty/need to do for some reason since we are literally children. If a feminine (usually straight Ig) girl feel/is ugly and undesired , everything around her crumbles and looses meaning. Men often live peacefully for years doing their men things (sport, friends etc) without even realizing how much appearance impact lives, your life is worthy and valuable because well, you’re the man. Man in here may care about looks just because of his final purpose (sex, maybe with more attractive partners) it’s an incomparable pain to a woman who basically chases what makes her feel worth of living .
