minoxidil is making me grow a beard

i’ve been applying minoxidil daily for a couple months now on my scalp and now i have a beard. like not a full one but i have hair growing on my forehead and cheeks. the hair also makes my face look darker so i had to shave it off . i’m not sure why it’s only on my face because my body hair is still growing at the same rate as it usually days
