Hi girls! I have a sincere question. Does minoxidil cause facial swelling or headaches? My face swells up a lot and I get headaches when I use it. Btw, I started using it a week ago and I'm using the 5% concentration. Thanks!!
i think yes + i searched up side effects too it says its common for new ppl using it. if it gets really bad js obv stop. @Ladiesman217

I would go on it if it weren’t for that side effect and apparently it also makes ur heart beat slower and slows ur metabolism

I've noticed the heart thing too, but honestly I think it's worth it. It actually works, that's the thing

i think an alternative you can use is a lash serum, i use the grande lash serum (the sensitive one) since its more gentle and it helped grow my lashes after i damaged them, it also didn’t give me the weird side effects because it doesn’t have prostaglandin in it !

Does minoxidil cause facial swelling or headaches?
Minoxidil is a medication commonly used to promote hair growth, especially for androgenetic alopecia (pattern baldness). While it is generally well-tolerated, some side effects can occur.
Facial swelling (edema) and headaches are possible but relatively uncommon side effects of minoxidil.

Facial swelling: This may occur as a sign of a more serious reaction or side effect, such as fluid retention or allergic response. If you experience significant facial swelling, you should seek medical attention promptly.

Headaches: Some users report headaches as a side effect, which could be related to changes in blood pressure or other physiological reactions.

If you're experiencing facial swelling or headaches after starting minoxidil, it's important to consult your healthcare provider. They can determine whether the medication is the cause and advise on the appropriate course of action, which might include adjusting the dosage or discontinuing use.
