because unfortunately as a minority everything you do affects how others of your race are viewed despite you only being one individual

thats why in public i be nice and helpful as hell because theres a genuine chance i could be either the reason someone reconsiders their racist views or reaffirms their racist views. this may sound like black ramblings but iykyk.
