Mainly water but good read regardless, especially for greys and people who mistake ltn for subhuman. If I've ever rated you in the past, this is a good reference.
Why Percentiles Matter:
No matter how accurate a rater is, the PSL scale will always be biased, as there is no universal scale any rater goes off of. What one objective rater sees as a mmtn will likely be what another sees as a hltn or a lhtn. The only real way to measure a ratings accuracy is to go off of what percentile a rater deems someone to fall under. The percentile most raters go off of is from any densely populated North American city/suburb. Percentiles can vary massively depending on your location. Someone who falls into the 45% range can easily be in the 70% range if they are in a region which has a higher unattractive average.
Below are examples of men and women who aren't considered significantly overweight (as a high bfp lowers your true rating by a substantial margin) who fall into each percentile range in a North American city/suburb along with what I personally believe their rating to be:
0-2% - Subhuman:
People in this range are rare to come across, and you are unlikely to see any in a given day.
2-15% - LLTN:
The 4 least attractive people in a classroom/work environment are likely to fall into this range.
15-35% - MLTN/B:
These people are slightly below average, but appear average to some.
35-65% - HLTN/B:
These people are average. Most people you see on a day to day basis are likely to be in this range.
65-75% - LMTN/B:
These people are slightly above average. This is the first range where dating success is fairly common.
75-85% - MMTN/B:
These people are attractive, but seen as slightly above average by some.
85-93% - HMTN/B:
These people are undeniably attractive. The 2 most attractive people in a classroom/work environment are likely to fall into this range.
93-98% - LHTN/B:
These people are strikingly attractive and relatively rare to come across.
98-99.7% - HTN/B:
The 10 most attractive people in your highschool likely fall into this range.
99.7-99.999% - CL/SL:
The most attractive person you'll come across in your life will likely fall into this range.
99.999+% - C/S:
There are less than 10,000 people worldwide that fall into this range.
How your region impacts your percentile/dating success:
As I mentioned previously, the examples above are based on densely populated North American cities and their surrounding suburbs. Percentiles are typically inflated in areas that are more rural/secluded in the west, with each tier essentially being treated as the tier above it. Most countries that are considered 3rd world are typically heavily inflated, with each tier of looks being treated as if it were 2 tiers above.
It is safe to assume that anyone above the 65th percentile of any given region can be successful in dating someone in a similar or lower percentile than themselves. Anyone above the 85th percentile will typically be sought after by others, and anyone above the 98th percentile will have very easy dating success. If you are unsure of what percentile you fall under, take a rough estimate of how many people out of 100 in your surrounding area are more objectively attractive than you, and you can have a rough estimate of where you fall.
