If you spend enough time in lm forums, you’ll notice people talking ab cheekbones, eye area etc.... Meanwhile one of the biggest contributors to facial presence sits on the side of the jaw. A face can have great bones , but without enough muscular support, it won’t be considered structured. It’ll look softer and almost as if the face is like unfinished

The masseter is what gives the lower third the so called completeness

what actually is the masseter?

It’s the muscle that runs from your cheekbone down to the angle of your jaw. Every time you chew, clench, or js stabilize your bite you’re basically using it. Faces that look strong almost always have well developed masseters

“High Masseter Insertions”

I'm genuinely sick of people talking bout sum "Don't train your jaw if your masseters are high insertioned".

they love to blabber ab how someone has high masseter insertions when the gonions are high set and the gonial angle is worse overall, but muscles don’t just attach to your bones however they want

What people are seeing is a short mandibular ramus.

The ramus is the vertical portion of your lower jaw. When it’s longer, the gonions sit lower. When it’s shorter, everything compresses, which makes it look likethe muscle is higher set.

How Masseters Influence Development

in puberty specifically, the body is extremely responsive to mechanical stimulus. This does not mean you can magically force your jaw to grow beyond your genetics, butt it does mean something important.

Many people never fully express their genetic potential because modern goyslop removes the need for strong chewing. (My chewing thread) it's not rlly “building new structure” but preventing underdevelopment.

Yeah some people get masseter Botox as well for TMJ or because they prefer the look of the right side of the emrata pic

tmj is getting pretty common for some reason tho

How do I avoid more growth

opinion on masseter hypertrophy?

How do I avoid more growth
I'd say mainly chewing softer foods, and if you want you can use 2 pills muscadol + diclofen (pea sized amount on each of your masseters and rub it in) every night and it'll atrophy it

Good topic, masseaters are definitely overlooked mastic gum should be a must do softmax, my masseaters were underdeveloped and the growth has been an exceptional improvement, it also combats assymmetry’s from bad habits and bad chewing habits. This thread could’ve been longer though explaining how to fix the masseater issue, how and where to chew for what results… but nice thread

you can steal anything aslong as you give credit primo

My ex got it so she had a slimmer less squared face, but it lasted less than 3 months so it's not worth the price or effort. 😭

Yeah it costs hundreds of dollars because it needs more units of Botox compared to other places in the face considering it’s such a big muscle and of course it’s Botox so not permanent and you have to keep getting it. I was thinking about getting it personally back then when I was less knowledgeable because I have a bit of a square face but I’ve decided it’s not actually necessarily a bad trait

I absolutely adore squared faces on girls. It's one feature I appreciate most. Look at Angelina Jolie as a prime example of hotness 😂 I was quite disappointed when she wanted to get it haha.
